This song is my homage to the band Luna. I was going for swirling guitars and a spaced-out sound. Moving forward, there's more I want to do production-wise (take out some of the guitar parts in places, add in more in other places to differentiate sections of the song), but I wanted to get a version posted. What do you all think?
Also, I tend to write songs that tell stories (usually true stories, things from my life), so this was my attempt to write something more abstract and descriptive. It was a strange way to write, and I moved more into story as the song went along, but it was good to try something new.
Fire
Verse 1
Warmth and light seeking me out,
Bringing heat to shivering bones.
Face flush, huddling, body crying out
For protection from the cold that's well known.
Chorus
Fire
Burn
Let it all go
Verse 2
Dancing flames of yellow and red
Calling my eyes as they play.
They could slide right, but they jump left instead,
Telling me I'll be OK.
Chorus
Fire
Burn
Let it all go
Bridge
A blazing fire in the fireplace,
Smoke curling up the chimney stack
I can see myself moving forward
'Cuz there's no point in looking back
'Cuz there's no point in looking back.
Chorus
Fire
Burn
Let it all go

You definitely deliver on the swirling guitars. This has a great sound to it. I always struggle with leaving ambiguity in lyrics, but offloading the finding of meaning on to the listener is definitely the way to go. I'll get there one day...

I really enjoy the lyrics and vibe of the music. They work perfectly together. I love the vocal treatment for the chorus! It gives me a nice warm feel :)

This is a fun song. I like the lyrics, and the music supports them well. Nicely done!

I can totally hear the Luna/Galaxy 500/Feelies influences here. But making them your own. Great job!

Awesome tones! Lush scape of swirliness. I'm really impressed with how the instruments sit in the mix too - everything sounds clean.

I love the sensory language, playing with warmth and cold, colors and movement. Great job stretching yourself in your songwriting style and production skills! It’s fun watching you grow and evolve!
