Feb 2022 folky harmonies guitar collaboration srcoops
I just couldn't resist another fine set of lyrics by srcoops. I repeated the first verse, but otherwise, exactly as written
Snow falls and paints the ground
Trees wear their white cloaks
Children making angel forms
Fireplace with kiln dried oak
Many things of beauty come
When the sun is in the south
We raise our toasts and toddys
To warm our lucky mouths
Our minds fall fast asleep
To the plight of those in need
Who wander without home or food
And suffer in the freeze
In a season when Christmas comes
We should reach out to these
And meet the needs of suffering folk
Instead of Christmas trees

It has been so terrific to have hooked up with you over the past years and in 2022. You are the whipped cream and cherry on top of my vanilla.

They are all singable! Really good delivery of this really good lyric.

Great lyrics expressing a strong sentiment, and "lucky mouths" is funny and unexpected amidst your otherwise serious sentiment

Gordon, you never miss. Fine job as always.

This song has such a gentle, vintage feel to it- the light harmonies were a lovely touch!

Something about that solo clean-but-slightly harsh electric reminds me of Billy Bragg, who I love. The harmonies are really beautiful and well-placed

Beautiful lyrics--obviously inspired you!
REALLY enjoying whoever is in the background, singing harmony. I really enjoy your vocal, too, of course.
A really nice collaboration, you guys! Do more of them!
