Well, this one had ideas of its own, that's for sure. I started out using the EZX "Dream Pop" drum kit after hearing what @sapient did with it here https://fawm.org/songs/128431/ and realising I needed to show it more love. But, then the muse piped up:
"This needs throat singing on it. Do some throat singing."
"I can't throat sing!"
"Do it anyway!"
I have definitely reached the "I'll try anything" stage of FAWM early this year.
Mankind did not invent the wheel
It's all a plot and birds aren't real
And he has proof the Earth is flat
Might not be truth, but who cares about that?
The things he says,
they work like lead
Get in your system,
get you dead
He knows his faithful
won't be told
He weaves credulity
into advertising gold
His sponsors love to hear him preach
It's all about extending reach
Things in your blood? Then buy these pills!
Stupid is good; it pays the bills
A spaceship Moon! Fake DNA!
And each new loon can have their say
Take all the lies with a pinch of salt
If someone dies, it won't be his fault

Love this change of genre and that you're experimenting! Tuvan throat singing is difficult, but so fun when the harmonics start getting funky.

Very cool. Dark and doomy. Dig the vocal effects on the chorus. This chugs and slowly rolls over everything in its path.
@ineloquentsd Feb 2022
Oof, those lyrics hurt me in a special place reserved for dealing with pseudoscience. Very well done.
This entire arrangement is delightfully effective. You did such a good job of using the instrumentals to draw attention to the lyrics and accent the mood without being at any point overwhelming them. Pretty sure I could name some long-form skeptical podcast hosts who would want to speak with you about featuring this song.
@heliosonorous Feb 2022
Great dark atmosphere under this, like the sound is being stretched apart, those vocal effects fit this nicely, and the marching percussion give this urgency!
@ampersandman Feb 2022
Impressive soundscapes, I particularly love the slide guitar, and the throat singing of course. These lyrics are spot on: "Stupid is good; it pays the bills". The gloomy atmosphere you created perfectly fits the subject.
@popmythology Feb 2022
Wow, this rocks!!! And, ah yes, good ol' societal breakdown via an inability to share a common reality and agree on the rules that govern that reality. Philip K. Dick knew this was coming... (PS: I still fondly remember your uncanny Count Dooku impersonation from our collab years ago!!)
@iwilleatyou Feb 2022
Is throat singing when one sings 2 notes simultaneously? That would be AWESOME in this! These lyrics are just spot on. Mankind indeed did not invent the wheel. I don't recall hearing you doing songs in this vein before (sorry if i'm wrong). This is quite an awesome number.
@emplate Feb 2022
Very cool roaring sounds in the chorus. It feels big and mighty. Great overall dark atmosphere.
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
I like that lyric some great lines And the talk stye that turns nicely distorted! And the way it suddenly becomes more chaotic. Nice one
@jacobeverettwallace Feb 2022
Gawd this sears in all the best ways. That fuzz tone is monstrous! Eerie rock is good. Nice job!
@altum Feb 2022
This track is an absolute monster!
That slow bending tone on the chorus is soooo thick! How do you make that?!
@darcistrutt Feb 2022
Creepy sound. Fits a creepy world. I enjoy your vocal on this. Each new loon can have their say...so true. Follow the money indeed.

@nadine Feb 2022
This fits into the collapse challenge. Sounds huge and heavy! Drums guitar and droning work so well.
@blindkiwi Feb 2022
This is so on point! Love the drums, they make such a good engine for this train and you have given it a bloody good head of steam! Love it!
@panch Feb 2022
Very topical subject that you've delivered in a highly original way. Sonically superb as always and the throat singing down in the mix adds a real sinister quality. Great stuff.
@sbs2018 Feb 2022
“Stupid is good, it pays the bills” - is that the truth - lol!
@aeye Feb 2022
Man this one hits home with the current political climate doesn't it. Those drums and guitars really drive this along. Also never thought I'd hear throat singing in one of your songs but it blends really well with the rest of it. Those basses are super nice. Really gritty and deep.
