A singer songwriter's song about a songwriter and a singer
Can you hear the night birds crying
Their hope is dying, it’s almost gone
Once so faithful, now they’ve none to follow
It’s a hollow road to kingdom come
When the night is dark and storms are coming
You’ll right my ship with your ancient art
When the hour is low, you’ll come a-riding
Your guiding light my saving spark
Blessed pioneer
Blessed pioneer
The sun sinks down and so the sorrow
Like there’s no tomorrow, that’s the way it plays
But your lines they tell the song of summer
To straighten all my twisted days.

This puts my demos into my phone to shame! Sounds beautiful. If I may ask, which songwriter is it about?

Beautiful guitar work. And a really evocative vocal. Lovely imagery as always.

Gosh, the production on this. My phone demos could never. I just love that classic hazeyjane clarity on the guitar and your emotive voice. These lyrics are heartbreaking, they make me nostalgic for a seafaring voyage I've never been on. Just a lovely meditative piece.

Oooooh. This is gorgeous. Calls to mind those singer-songwriters who do the same for me. (And you're one of them). Love this one, and to hear you solo as well.
The guitar piece is divine and your voice is velvet, as always.

...why I just assumed it is written in your voice, rather than from The SingerSongwriter.

It's not whingeing tat. It's quite lovely actually. Is it a general musing or about a specific songwriter?
Don't know why I just assume
