This is technically a re-upload, I deleted it in it's original form. The chorus just wasn't hitting right for me, so I wrote a new one!
She wants solutions, to problems that she makes
She wants a little piece of everything that she can taste
Prefers delusions, it's her way to escape
No one can take her from reality that she has made
I want salvation, but I don't want a god
I want a little piece of everything that you have got
I hate the nation, don't care what side you're on
I wish our enemies would storm the hills and blow it up
We're go in 4...3...2...1
And couldn't make sense of all the words you said, I couldn't survive all of the hurt you left
It was a full stop, get lost, pulled the trigger, blew us up
It's too late now for regrets
And I couldn't hold on for any longer, I couldn't have made it any easier, Now it's too late to save the day, sealed our fate and walked away, closing all of the doors
We aren't the enemy, we aren't the hero
We're all caught in between the problems on the radio
and I'm not Gandhi, I sure as hell ain't Jesus
Just want to live my life without this f***in nonsense
A little make believe, a little passion
Hell what's the worst thing that could possibly happen?
We blame the internet, we blame the media
We never blame the goddamn man in the mirror
We're go in 4...3...2...1
And couldn't make sense of all the words you said, I couldn't survive all of the hurt you left
It was a full stop, get lost, pulled the trigger, blew us up
It's too late now for regrets
And I couldn't hold on for any longer, I couldn't have made it any easier, Now it's too late to save the day, sealed our fate and walked away, closing all of the doors
I realize that I never should have believed you
I don't mind that I won't live to see it through
I should of never believed in you
I won't live to see it through

Thanks for listening to “It’s Okay.”
Good mix, rocking solo. I liked the gritty but tight quality of the vocals/harmonies!

@suburbanfolk The drums are mostly sampled, some parts I write in midi. I use Logic on a MacBook Pro, Focusrite 2i2 interface, AKG p220 condenser mic, Helix floor ran direct into the interface. Most guitars I track with my Gibson Slash Signature LP. Musicman stingray bass. And lastly, a voice that sounds slightly better than it should for a 20 year long pack a day smoker, lol
@suburbanfolk Feb 2022
Dude, What are you using for your recordings?
If these are sampled drums... You've done an outstanding job!

@sadloaf It helps that I’m staying firmly in my wheelhouse this year and have my at home set up dialed in to crank these things out. Same plug-ins, eq’s, etc on most of the songs. I live for a good hook. It’s my thing. I find verses terribly cumbersome. If I didn’t have to set up the hook, I’d never write any
@mattwdunn Feb 2022
WOW!!!! The new chorus slays. And the original chorus still makes it as a bridge. This is soooo good. Could be my favourite of your heavier tracks
@sadloaf Feb 2022
A super competent radio rock style song. Impressed that you're doing things with this big and chunky a mix with such a good ear for hooks in a month with so many songs to write.

The riffs here are great . I also like the doubled vocals in the 2nd verse and the effect on the voices there.

@elainedimasi I feel like it’s written from the standpoint of a guy who just it his heart broken. He’s bitching about her and the state of the world because he’s in an f it all frame of mind. The chorus switches to “you” because he directs his anger where it really is. Much like an inner monologue, it’s messy, and in this case—intentionally so.
@blainev83 Feb 2022
@elainedimasi I do this all in my bedroom. One man band! Thank you for all the kind words!
@elainedimasi Feb 2022
Well this rocks!
The band sounds great, and I really dig the way you're singing. Cadences of all those words are really working. I'm a little jealous, too, because I love this style of music and it's totally not in my skillset to make it happen :-)
I'll admit that I searched around a bit for the "she" from verse1 to see where she went. Unless she was Lady Liberty or something related to the nations-in-a-dumpster-fire theme, I figure she turned into the "you" we get in the choruses.
