This is a piece of art, a kind of verbal crayon-scribble drawing that turns out to have layers of thoughtful, adult, even frightening meaning. Being pre-invasion of Ukraine, this is truly prescient. It's melodically sophisticated. I liked the shifts from duple to treble time, the growling bang of the piano on "bomb", and the desperation in your voice on "it's gonna be just fine".
@sherrycanary Mar 2022
With that title, had to listen.
Those nonsense words are great.
They almost make sense.
Your vocal treatment is so good. You can hear the dread in the ticky time bomb
Like the music too.
@richardmasters Mar 2022
Ha! Great lullaby, the way your voice swoops down to breaking point is delightfully unhinged. Yes, the nonsense words set one up for triteness then you slap one in the face with one's fish, craftily hidden behind one's back. A song to disturb people of all ages

What a charming and novel approach. :) I'm a sucker for lullabies and apocalypses, so a combination of the two is just my cup of tea. ;)
Such pretty music, and just the right vocal performance. Nice!
@robheron1 Feb 2022
This is really brilliant. I like the mix of childish wordplay and modern adult themes. Never seen that done so well. Thx!
@chipwithrow Feb 2022
I had to hear another of yours after your delightful window song!
I love that keyboard sound - lullaby-ish, and sorta spooky. Such fun wordplay and dramatic vocalizing. Unique, cool song!
@wylddandelyon Feb 2022
this is wonderfully silly and yet, "Poopy scoopy Doodie Duty" yeah, there's some reality here too.
@billwhite51 Feb 2022
wish i could string goofy syllables together with your dexterity, sending my daughter laughing ro sleep as i sit there, anxiously dreading the next earthquake.
@js6 Feb 2022
In my head this plays out like a movie scene. The world is ending, yet what more can you do than embrace your loved ones. Great work with the atmosphere. I got goosebumps near the end.
@dragondreams Feb 2022
What a wonderful juxtaposition of style and content. And another terrifically theatrical number!
@erbaer Feb 2022
Bunch of stuff here. I like the teetering contrast between the sing-song nursery rhyming doom words and the cooing maternal reassurances... We really are a crazy species.
@tukayandryan Feb 2022
I think this should be compulsory download for anyone setting up a nursery! Great delivery as always!
@moonraccoon Feb 2022
YES Doom Time is almost here. The dreamy but still spookily tense verses give way nicely to the gentle bounce in the chorus. All perfectly lullabyish.
@jennakole Feb 2022
I love how unhinged this feels. Def my brand of lullaby… probably gonna be in my head for the rest of my life, so, good on ya
@ductapeguy Feb 2022
Hello Cassandra: It's Mr. McGaughey. I listened with Mr. B's Grade 8s. Here are their comments.
A: The song was easy to understand.
@ductapeguy Feb 2022
Oh my baby! This is beautiful. This needs to be made into a music box with the little tines.
@davidtaro Feb 2022
Haha, this is great, you’ve really nailed the feeling! I’ll be singing this to my kids before bed this evening…
@daveyboy103 Feb 2022
Drawn in by the intriguing title. The first sales point for a song. Very sweet and an easy listen and actually quite funny.
Most anxiety is largely of our own making. If all you have to worry about are existential threats then you really have nothing to worry about.
@sapient Feb 2022
Brilliant.
It's so relaxing and so dark all at the same time. I'm hearing it asthe opening track to an album that just EXPLODES...
Love it :D
@dzdandcunfsd Feb 2022
I'm not gonna turn down a title like this. Great to hear you back again this year!
This is absolutely delightful and just what I needed right now! That first verse might be my new mantra for myself :O)
@musicbymichelle Feb 2022
Great job Cassandra. So unique, just like you!
