Sink it down
blow it up
nail it to the ground
to watch it rise above
then I might see
what part of me remains
let it go
trapped it in
find the flow
then get paralyzed again
only to see
Ill never be the same
It wasn't me
It was my mind
don't shoot the messenger
don't kill the rhyme
just fall in line
Chalk it up to a
sign of the times
sign of the times
I've been higher
I've been worse
I've been the kindling for the fire
to get snuffed right out and cursed
now i see
why I endlessly want more
It wasn't me
It was my mind
don't shoot the messenger
don't kill the rhyme
just fall in line
Chalk it up to a
sign of the times
sign of the times

This is stunningly beautiful. Love it :)
These 4 lines "let it go
trapped it in
find the flow
then get paralyzed again" particularly reverberate with me. I think that how I exist often. It feels fruitless to me sometimes, for me I mean.
Love the lyrics throughout, and the melody is perfect for the feel, very evocative :)

This is beautiful. Nice melody, and some great lines.

So beautiful! I love the music as well as your voice, and am a big fan of the layering vocals. I love the line “endlessly wanted more” and how you sang it…

This is a lovely collab. Has a unified feel. The song really works. Grest harmonies. Guitar is steadily moody.

This is a very 'raw' lyric, full of intimacy and quiet passion. The delivery supports this in every way. You sing beautifully, and I enjoyed the dynamics - the soothing and the soaring. They were a perfect foil to the meditative guitars, in all their echoing fuzz. The melody and chord progression captured the highs and lows, and it was overall just really pleasant to listen to. A fantastic start.

Nice collab: the interplay of the vocals and the guitar is lovely. The image of kindling snuffed out is particularly strong.

Thanks for listening to Sign of the Times. I really appreciate all your thoughts and comments. Also I am new to FAWM and don't think I can reply to you individually?????

Hey @helenseviltwin yes I'm over here from GYAWS too ! :-) This is a lovely collab with Kristen ! I really like the guitar, wondering what the effect on it is..? Really cool ! nice job :-)

I like the singing, a clean and clear voice. The song is moody, I like this.

Kinda hypnotic with the guitar pattern. It's quite pretty. I like those light harmonies that just add that bit of texture. Intriguing lyrics. "It want me/It was my mind" Truthfully we are not our minds, not are we or bodies. Nice collab y'all.

This is a really gorgeous song… I love the pacing and phrasing and the heartfelt gentle emotional delivery. The lyrics are full of insight and are beautifully poetic. This is the kind of music I could listen to over and over. The repetition of the music in the subtle backing track is perfect to allow the lyrics and vocals to shine.

Oh wow this is really pretty! I love that guitar sound and playing, and it is such a nice base for the vocals. The melody is so nice and then those harmonies…very subtle but great. Really great collaboration.
