My father use to have a name for everything, and the outhouse was no exception. They say you should write from experience so that's where I go. I was really scared of the wharf spiders which could have a span of two inches or more - what wonderful memories from the 50's. Anyway, the outhouse was "Billman Lodge" and the insects were "Billmans"

Welcome to Bilman Lodge my friends
F
The fun we can have here never ends
G
A door with a moon and a wooden seat
G7 C
With a hole in the middle – tell your friends!
So have a seat, and enjoy the view
The seat is big so don’t fall in
But even if you plummet through
A soft landing you will have - who knew!
There’s sure to be a library
With newspapers and a catalogue
You may relax and read a while
Just be yourself, you may even smile
Sometimes there’s wildlife to be found
Patrolling the walls, or on the ground
Fascinating bugs, and spiders and flies
And those lovely mosquitoes may abound
Then when it’s time for you to part
those papers may come in really handy
And as you leave, remember that
Bilman lodge is where you . . . . sat!

Oh Mike you make me laugh!!! Ours is called Moon View Manor. Please tell me you never fell down the hole... please reassure me this DID NOT happen - that it is fiction! :) My fav lines:
Sometimes there’s wildlife to be found
Patrolling the walls, or on the ground
Also ...sat! is the perfect ending to this one. Bravo Mike, Bravo!!!

Takes me back to when I was a kid. I hated using the outhouse at our cottage.
