i used to live nearer the arctic circle, north of which the dusk can last all winter.
i've been churning out fawmy lyrics, but i haven't managed to record much. and rather than doing quick guitar one-takes, i'm trying to mess with other stuff.
but my skills and time are minimal.
so this isn't necessarily quite what i had in mind when i wrote the lyrics several days ago... but this is what i got with 1-2 hours on garageband this evening.
i remember in 2005 did a fawm song that clocked in at 1:30, but it was quite dense and rapid and i liked it...
dusk is dawn is dusk again
are gone both light and night amen
the hours and days tick by
in grey on grey in through the eye and then
the hours and days tick by
marked by device and not within
and dawn is dusk is dawn again
and dusk is dawn is dusk again
civil, astronomical, and nautical ...
civil, astronomical, and nautical ...
civil, astronomical, and nautical ...
the sun is somewhere somewhat near
it also rises not ‘round here
what papa said was true
when bread and spread from high down through the ‘sphere
what papa said was true
it also sets from what we hear
there’s somewhere sunward somewhat near
and dusk is dawn is dusk again
and dawn is dusk is dawn again

cool
I like the melody, keep it.
fine garageband work. Time constraints are good, I think. Forces something to happen and no futzing over details.

I love sciencey- eductional songs. This has a great TMBG vibe about it. Nicely done.
