I see beneath your mask, a sunbeam;
can we just bask and daydream,
until this passes?
We'll go maskless.
I can't believe it's been two years.
You look like you've been in tears,
fears, and burning ashes.
We'll go maskless.
Maskless
You have such a pretty smile
Maskless
Haven't seen you for awhile
But who are we kidding?
Even when the last mask is down,
no one's really maskless anyhow.

@the3queens sent me here.
It definitely has a stage show feel to it. I love the deliberate, unhurried pace, the piano interlude, and return to the verse. Also the concise write and rhyme scheme.
Glad I came by.

Love this, Matt! Great job/ beautiful song :-)

Nice write: "haven't seen you for a while" is so true these days, and the conclusion is spot on.

Wow, just wow. Using the mask that we've all come to somewhat accept as a symbol of vulnerability, letting your guard down. The piano is sublime, especially the interlude. You have such a way with uncovering deep truths "no one's really maskless anyhow." Isn't that the truth! I love your songs and hope I get to hear you in person again soon.

When I saw the title, I assumed it was a pandemic song. Boy howdy I am glad I was so wrong. The imagery in this song is beautiful. This is a great love ballad.

Lovely melody. Oh my goodness your chorus - what a nice lift - I got a little chill! Very nice piano and vocals. I like the staggered octaves - very cool. It sounds great over the quite chords rolling underneath. I really enjoyed your song! Wonderful song concept.

Saw the title and had to come listen. Well done. It reminds me of a Broadway show song. I love the twist irony at the end.
