Pretty much just what happened while riding home this morning, and then me imagining one of those dudes who's more of a pitchfork-waving devil (than, say, a harp-holding angel) on your shoulder in the car with me.
Guitar tuning: DAEGAD (or CGDFGC x77325, Capo 2)
Fresh coat of paint on the town sign late last night
It’s Tiffany blue but there ain’t no jewelry in sight
Name’s unreplaced but they left up signs for Scouts
Rotary, Elk and church daycare, the little sprouts
You ought to be riding shotgun
You got good aim even when unloaded
Your poor impulse control richly voiced and dulcet
still offered up even when you’re outvoted
Tank half full but I thought I’d top off for safety’s sake
She was adjusting her shirt just as I walked in to pay
Bosom like a thousand drowning sailors’ harbor dreams
Hips like torpedoed ships aflame in vengeful angry seas

George - this is amazing. The narrative is engaging; vividly descriptive. The arrangement is its own world (love the piano) and your vocal leads the entire story with such command. Impressive!

Great storytelling lyric. It transports me into its world, like Mark Eitzel or Craig Finn.
