This is my salute to one of my favorite artists, Leonora Carrington. I'm happy with the song, but not with this recording but after trying about 15 times to make it better, I'll just have to revisit it later or I'll never post it! My hands are like claws now! Plus I wanted to add an image - again, maybe later!
Leonora
Leonora, Leonora,
Leonora
Hyenas and horses
With piercing eyes
Darkness and misery
———
Max was arrested
It drove her mad
———
Mexico took her in and healed her
Her fertile mind create a cosmos
Extraordinary
Curlicues and vaporous figures
Dance and tend to arcane errands
Wondrous being with haunting eyes
Watching you Watching each other
I fell into her painted canvass
As tasty as a tempting meal
Each part a treat and revelation
Of wonder and delight
Her humor and her love of story
Permeates her mystic world
Funnier as she got older
Just ask it should be
Her fertile mind create a cosmos
Extraordinary
Curlicues and vaporous figures
Dance and tend to arcane errands
Wondrous being with haunting eyes
Watching you Watching each other
Leonora, Leonora,
Leonora, Leonora

Love the complex words the winding melody and the strange chords. I suppose surrealism demands that.
Didn't know her work, thanks for the sharing.

Such interesting imagery in this song, Leslie - I love "Curlicues and vaporous figures/Dance and tend to arcane errands."

I love the melody you've got going on here and the lyrics really pull one in. The way you play with words in that last verse is lovely.

Wondrous being with haunting eyes-what a picture! I don't think I've ever heard of this artist. Intriguing.

You "paint" quite a picture with your words here. I don't know Leonora or her work, but I definitely get a sense of her from this. I think the strum works on this when you've got it down. Keep working on this one!
