I do lyrical themes every year and this year’s theme is the previous year - same theme as last year…since we seem to be on repeat.
I'd like to claim that this was the first time I based a song around the interplay of C#m and the open E string on the guitar. But that would be a lie. AND apologies for the generic platitude lyrics - this song seemed to warrant that kind of crap.
First mix - probably needs more work.
You can’t wait for life
You can’t wait for life
You can’t wait for life
You can’t wait for life
I got you, got you
I got you, got you
I got you, got you
I got you, got you
We gotta synchronize with the rhythms of fate
And never waste our time with the ones who can wait
We’ll put the darkness in the back of our minds
And keep the beauty right in front of our eyes
You can’t wait for life
I got you, got you

Whoa, this is a trip! Love what you did with your vocals, it adds a bit of a psychedelic vibe. The "I got you" sections are particularly cool. This is awesome!

Nice groove. I like the chopped/looped vox refrain. You’re right about the lyric here — simple, repeated phrases that don’t get in the way of that groove is the way to go — profundity can wait! And the bridge is a really nice contrast.

Nice edgy, off-the-wall feel to this.

Really cool intro. Can imagine that working so well live in a dark smoky club. Then like the dissonance of the guitar and piano. Nice counter to that baseline. Which is awesome by the way.
