Idea for these lyrics came from listening to Sugarland by Papa Malli.
I built an electric bass sounding drum from a wooden wine crate for the principl sound giving a whole meaning to dark and depressing.
Life of Misery
Life of misery
World of pain
Gimme some of your whiskey
Some sweet cocaine
Gotta get me some whiskey
Some of that sweet cocaine
World of misery
Life of pain
Hand in hand with the devil
To the promised land
Hand in hand with the devil
To the promised land
Don’t see no difference
If I’m alive or dead
If the whiskey don’t kill me
A jealous man will
Said if the whole whiskey don’t kill me
A jealous man will
BRIDGE
Life of misery
World of pain
Gimme some of your whiskey
Some of that sweet cocaine
Gotta get me some whiskey
Some of that sweet cocaine
Gotta get me some whiskey
Some of that sweet cocaine

You nailed dark and depressing. This is sludgy and soul wrenched as only an artist can capture. Very very cool, Chris.

This is the sound of someone who has been battered down by life. This captures the stylistic conventions perfectly. While we all draw from our own experiences a little in our art, I hope you haven't seen the suffering in life of this song's protagonist. And if you have, I hope that you, like he, have a few vices or joys to help you pull through.
