Game of Thrones. What a source for great quotes! That’s what this is about. I took great quotes, might’ve adjust a couple and there you go. The main quote from the chorus comes from Arya’s “dancing teacher” Syria Forel
Gathering night
Winter is coming
You win or you die
There’s no middle ground
That’s what I do
I drink and I know things
I learned how to die
A long time ago
There’s only one god
He goes by the name of death
And there’s only one thing
That you can say to him
Only one god
Only one thing
That you can say
Not today
The ladder of chaos
Is there for the climbing
If I should fall
Don’t bring me back
They gave me a name
I wear it like armour
But the long night is coming
And so is the dead
I am the watcher on the walls
I’m the fire that burns against the cold
The light that brings the dawn
The horn that wakes the sleepers
I’m the shield that guards the realms of men

A very skillful arrangement. You've woven some quite separate utterances together into a cohesive story, and performed it with every bit as much fluency. I'm not familiar with the show - but the high fantasy themes are delivered well and are instantly recognisable. The titular hook is interesting - you defy death itself as casually as you would tell a child their parcel hasn't arrived yet.

Wow. That is one amazing filk song. The chorus is killer. And the songwriting stunt is pretty sweet too. I think I may try something like this myself.

Dope! This is so convenient, I've never seen the show and now I don't need to since you've compiled all the best bits right here!
Also the song is objectively good, nice work mang. Maintains interest without jumping around too much or being too busy. All about it

Oooooh, this is so well done! Bards telling stories are so hot right now and this is right up there with the best :)
