My third song posted today - I'm going to have a busy week and not much time to do music so thought I'd try to get ahead of myself.
My wife wrote the lyrics to this - she knows that I normally like to write a ridiculous narrative essay with about 15 verses for my song, so she tried to do something more economical to force me out of my comfort zone. It has an unusual structure (metre?) which has forced me to do weird things with chords and the structure of the verses etc that I wouldn't normally do, which is probably a good thing.
I am trying to get better at just recording things live as in the past I've recorded songs for FAWM that I couldn't actually play, so this time I recorded vocals and guitar together, and then just dubbed other another vocal and a bit of melodica.
Cold fall night
Nature's harvest
Blue moon light
Flight
Prayer to the
Silent earth below
Little crow
Reach to the Hunter's moon
As the bright stars bloom
Send a blessing on those
That see you
Mid winter night
Nature silent
White moon light
Flight
Prayer to the silent earth below
Little crow
Wheeling in the big dark
Tonight make your mark
Send a blessing on those
That see you
Fresh spring night
Nature's awakening
Soft green light
Flight
Prayer to the silent earth below
Little crow
Silent on midnight wing
As the wise ones sing
Send a blessing on those
That see you
Summer night
Nature's plenty
Golden light
Flight.
Prayer to the silent earth below
Little crow
Circle in the big blue
Beauty free and true
Send a blessing on those
That see you.

Uplifting and memorable. The touch of the melodica is nicely improvized, a great touch. It's pleasing to listen to this, especially since folk is 'out of my comfort zone'.

Glad to catch this as it is freshly posted! An uplifting track - would feel at home at a festival, at sea, in a beer hall and a bunch of other places. Has that communal vibe that brings people together. Bright, tuneful. Good stuff
