Feb 2022 dedication loss
There was a post on forum about anti-valentine and it actually put me in a mood of creating a little valentine lyric. Sorry, I know this wasn't the intention of the thread but here goes. The words are connected with my loss but sadly I'm not the only one who lost someone dear. I originally just wrote my words in a hope of someone creating music but after reading the comments with the suggestions of putting music myself I came up with this simple song. Thank you for listening. I'm not a singer and hopefully I'll have a better demo at some point. I'll keep you updated if you are interested.
Update: Kate kindly agreed to sing this song. Please listen to her beautiful vocals: https://fawm.org/songs/131410/
The first Valentine
Words © 2022 Nadia Cripps
The first Valentine without You
But You will be always loved
This Valentine for me is coloured blue
It's so sad you were not saved
The first Valentine we can't celebrate
And no words can put this right
I've lost my beautiful soulmate
I grieve for you each day and night
The first Valentine since you aren't here
I promise to keep our memories alive
And what we had will never disappear
Your favourite roses will soon arrive
I love you more and more and more
You are the only one for me, my dove
You were the best I could have asked for
Thank you for everything, my love

Hi Nadia, I came back because you said you got inspired enough to record a demo and I think it is really wonderful and moving. Thank you so much for sharing these emotions with all of us.

You did a beautiful job on your musical composition to accompany the heartfelt lyrics you wrote. I’m so glad you did it, and that I got to hear it. Sending you a virtual (hug) from across the pond. <3

Sending you hugs. This is really beautiful and heart touching. I hope you put your musical touch on it as well, but for now it stands alone, and that’s okay. It’s as strong as you are. <3

This really moved me Nadia. I'm sorry for your loss. "your favourite roses will soon arrive" carries such weight.

Your words are filled with love and loss. Special days like this can be hard when mixed with grief.

I am so sorry for your loss, Nadia. Like @cindyrella said, these lyrics are very poignant and vulnerable and I think you playing the piano could really work to put this to music.
