Feb 2022 rock instrumental fuzz lo-fi needs-collab rough-edit iphone
Here’s the story, morning glory… this morning I was trying to record some fuzzed up guitar to some zecoop drums when all of a sudden, my laptop just died. There was nothing I could do to bring it back to life. I was lucky to have AppleCare support and get a slot with an Apple technician. The prognosis - the machine is dead, it is an ex-laptop. It has popped it’s mortal coil. So they need to replace the motherboard, which means new hard drive. So, I will lose all of my data. My mistake is they my last backup is weeks ago. But, I will get the machine back in 2 days. I will then have to set it up from scratch (with the backup I have, if it restores)…
So, I have tried a little experiment. I got an adapter to plug my Quad Cortex into my iPhone to see if I can record guitars onto my phone with GarageBand. And voila, it worked. Just a basic instrumental track with basic editing on the phone. There’s some fuzzy guitar, bass and the GarageBand drummer.
The fuzz used - a capture of a Russian Bass Big Muff
GarageBand doesn’t allow me to export in MP3
format and being limited to my phone, strength have had to go with the Apple format exported and save on my web server for streaming. Hi hope it plays for everyone.
Happy if anyone wants to take this and do any kind of collaboration.
Oh, and the link to the body part - the fluff that collects in one’s naval.
Thanks for stopping by and listening.
Instrumental.

Plays fine, sounds great, so this was definitely a successful experiment. There are some very satisfying guitar tones going on here and the riff has fine potential as a hook.
Incidentally, for us older folk, "Fluff" was also the nickname of legendary UK rock DJ Alan Freeman (there's a track of the same name on Black Sabbath's "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" album that is dedicated to him.) So this also took me on a noisy ramble down memory lane. Happy days!

dark and fuzzy Solid production...this is too good to stay as a instrumental..it needs a voice. someone should try and do a vocal track for this.

Fuzzy and THICK! Oh no, I just read about your laptop and hard drive....ugh, makes me a little sick thinking about losing all of that. This song is a really good one. Lots of personality! Very good.

Another great instrumental. Love your guitar work.

Oh no, that's the second story I've heard in two days, of a device bricking like that. I better get smarter with my own. Kudos to you for perseverance to FAWm with other devices! I could play the demo, nice attitude, I like the slightly wandering lead line, like it's casting its eye over ALL the nice fuzzy navels strutting up and down this beach :-)

This sounds great, stuffed with riffs and full of melodic guitar lines. Your instrumentals are always a handsome listen.

Oh that sucks! not the song your computer problems lol
The tune is great! I'm intrigued by those quad cortex's I've piddled with an old Kemper before, and for quick, light, easy things like that can't be beat. What I've heard from the cortex's though they do capture a pedal MUCH better. The Kemper was a pain as you just had to have it in a signal chain and do it all as one with amp and all.
This sounds great, I'm very familiar with the big green muffs if you hadn't told me I would fully assume that was a pedal, it seems to have nice harmonic and dynamic response(things that are very hard if not impossible to get from most plug-ins) Really groovy piece, hopefully someone comes along with some lyrics!

<3 Good sound~ not sure but might like to use to put spoken word to or not sure if you sing? Maybe I could write you some lyrics...

Oh Simon, this must have hit you quite hard. You remind me to take a back up. NOW!!! I do a big one every 3 months and a small one every week. I did not expect that you can record guitars with your iphone. And yes, it works!
Your song has a great feel. I can imagine some grunge vocals and lyrics here, following the guitar riff. But I don't have the right voice. Hope a baritone will speak up and turn this draft into a full song!
