I wanted to write a song about our little rescue JackChi (a Jack Russell crossed with a chihuahua). I came up with the riff, then ditched it after I thought it sounded a lot like the Dead Kennedys.
But then I thought I could just combine the two and make it a tribute both to the dog and the DKs.
Drums courtesy of my old suitcase.
Yeah I love my little chi-chi
I really think so
But she is a very naughty dog
I really think so
In her little tux, she always looks her best
She's got sharp teeth like a little T Rex
Yeah I love that little chi chi
I really think so
I can never get her on a lead in the morning
She'd rather lay in her bed gently snoring
But when she knows that we're going somewhere good
She nestles in the boot like a little christmas pud
Yeah that little dog really rules the roost
I really think so
Chihuahua uber alles!

Don't know if I've ever heard surfer rock in minor? This is pretty rad, even though I do not, at all, like chihuahuas.

Surf’s up! Love the (seeming) lyrical/stylistic disconnect, and I’m always up for a song about a dog.
I have a chihuahua-lab mix (yeah… she was a rescue, so not sure how exactly that worked out). While she definitely has some lab tendencies, she’ll spend most of the morning being the toastiest little cinnamon bun in my bed if given half the chance.

This is hilarious! Love the disjunction of style and subject matter. Your dog sounds adorable.

Wow, you have a great stylistic range! I came from the post-apocalyptic cowboy song to this. I can definitely relate to the naughty dog content.

Oh yes, perfect surf punk DK vibes - I love how gritty the production is
