I was thinking this song would benefit greatly if Love/Hate would record it.
It seems like days since I walked in here
The sun was shining, my head was clear
Last call for alcohol
I'd get up and leave, but I know I'd fall
I'm in Dutch
I need a crutch
I need a friend who can drive a clutch
I'll be in your debt
If you could pour me in my bed
Oh baby...
Take me home
My head is spinning
Won't you take me home
I'm in no shape to walk
Much less to drive
If you want me to survive, you'd better
Take me home
The tequila flowed like wine
The beer went down like water
If you get me home tonight
I'll praise you like no other
I've got a pizza in the trunk
I'm just a drunk
But I've got a cat to feed
Last call for alcohol
Somebody sweep me down the hall
I'm in love!
What's your name?
If we're both fucked up then who's to blame?
I'd be much obliged
If you could find someone to drive, oh baby
Take me home
My head is spinning
Won't you take me home
I'm in no shape to walk
Much less to drive
If you want me to survive, you'd better
Take me home
I just might have a lot to offer
If I could get my shit together
I ain't got money for a cab
Take me home
My head is spinning
Won't you take me home
I'm in no shape to walk
Much less to drive
If you want me to survive, you'd better
Take me home
Take me home
My head is swimming
Won't you take me home
I'm in no shape to walk
Much less to drive
If you want me to survive, you'd better
Take me home

Nice alt-rock groove in the guitar playing. The vocals are aggressive and strident. I'm thinking a bit of Led Zeppelin due to the feel of the song.

Do you ever miss?! I'm thinking that the line "I'd be much obliged / if you could find someone to drive" is both literal and metaphorical - "please, someone, take control because I don't feel like I can right now." Love the plagal chords under the main "take me home" hook. The guitar resonates beautifully on this one - aside from being a boss at guitar how'd you accomplish it? The EQ sounds treble-heavy, but it's not at all thin. It's a sound palette I associate with Open G or DADGAD tuning; did you use one of those by chance? (Complete novice guitarist so I'd never be able to guess just from noticing chords or voicings.)
Anyway, I've rambled long enough. Another gem, thanks for posting.
