In Chapter 5 of The Mountain in the Mirror, an improvised musical story:
What do you do when you notice that something has gone wrong with the reflections in the mirrors? You obsess over it, of course. That is what very possibly supernatural occurrences are for. You're also worried because the new girl next door, whom you've been covertly hoping is kind of magical, seems to be behaving oddly, glaring at you through the chain-link fence separating your properties and storming away when you approach. Maybe she's connected to whatever's happened to the mirrors? You could ask her. Why aren't you asking her? JUST ASK HER, DAMN YOU. But you don't.
When you need to shove anxiety into a piece of music, just go straight for the tongue drum.

love the hand drum! I always relate them to the sound of calm and relaxing but having it played like this makes it sound anxious. I can imagine the scene

Another cool instrument! My son studied percussion for years, but never got to play on one of these. It does sound anxious, which I presume is linked to the notes and their relationship to each other, because as a sound, it's kinda watery, which should be relaxing.

This is really neat and I love reading your narration but I want to watch the mesmerizing tongue drum even now while I type. You’re probably scared to approach her because she might not be real, or even worse, it wasn’t even you she was looking at.
