Recorded beside a crackling fire. <3
What a shame to slip away
Into the endless gray
What a shame
Every day another break
I watch you fade away
Every day
Friends say they don't know you anymore
No one can seem to recollect who you were before
Maybe it's time
Time to say goodbye
Bittersweet memories have kept me holding tight
But I won't hold on anymore if you've got to go
You've been on the threshold so long, I know, I know
I don't know if you're alone
In your mind or in your soul
I'll never know
I hope that place that you go,
I pray it feels like home
Like home
You've still got a smile on your face
You still glow with joy that we won't replace
Chorus
So I'm saying goodbye to the you I know

Very sad song but beautiful. Seems like you are losing someone. Very sorry. The smile on the face is the only moment of solace. Wonderful singing and gentle playing.

So sadly beautiful documenting the end of a relationship. Lovely vocals and just right guitar.

This is lovely. The chorus is so relatable, touching and lands just right. The vocal/guitar delivery over the crackling fire was perfect for this song. Well done!

Beautiful. You could sing the telephone directory and it would sound gorgeous, but the lyrics to this song are beautifully touching, and the instrumentation a delightful accompaniment. Love it. Feels like an instant classic!

Your voice sounds lovely in this track. I appreciate the sparseness of the lyrics. “you’ve been on the threshold so long” - such a great image.

Oh this is just sublime. Your voice, the peaceful guitar, the sound of the fire… could listen to this forever!

What a beautiful and thoughtful composition, Erin! The vocals and firewood crackling create moments of a cozy wistfulness. Looking forward to hearing more.
