This one is a doozy to mix. The hours I've spent mixing it is absurd. So, I'm sure there is a bunch of shit that needs adjusting. But, we'll do that later.
Pretty proud of the progression on this one. The drums were a challenge in getting it all right.
We used maschine, volca keys, some awesome plug ins, bass, some samples, piano/microkorg and who knows what else. Its insanity the amount of stems we have on this.

Are you enchanted by the answers
I give to you?
The panic,
The driving desire to know you?
Are you enchanted by the reasons I wanted you?
The fear of ending nearly clipping you
Oh my oh my god what a wasted gift
Oh my oh my god how could it be like this
Oh my oh my god what a wasted gift
Oh my oh my god how could it be like this
Are you enchanted by the answers
I give to you?
The panic, the driving desire to control you
Harder and so close, we all aim to believe
Harder and so low, we all aim to deceive
Are you dismembered by the reasons I left you there?
the knowing of it all ending
Is taking you under
On the edge and in the ocean
Consequence is our devotion
On the edge and in the ocean
Consequence is pure commotion
There’s a place for you and me
Lost without words
Forgotten chemistry

Very dark and hypnotic... Loving all of the panning going on, swirling around my head. The intro section reminds me of the soundtrack to "Stranger Things", one of my favourite soundtracks of these last few years mind you! There's a great momentum to this, like a marching beat. Thump thump
@majordanby Feb 2022
Love the deep bass and breakbeat which holds everything together. Lovely vocals as usual and the dark breakdowns are really cool! I reckon you could take this bigger in the final third if you choose to come back to it post FAWM.
Really slick and likeable track!
@safred Feb 2022
Also very nice, deep, rich textures and mood, love the atmosphere and synth treatments and the vocals are once more top notch!
@thelowestbitter Feb 2022
Those dreamy panned arp swells are wonderful. The shift at a minute in is really effective, really like that wonky synth bass and the building of the beat after that sparser intro.
@badgag Feb 2022
Oh nice! The sounds in this are just so bloody cool. I feel completely enchanted ;)
@looprication Feb 2022
Mmm pulls you right in, great graphic to match. The drums and the warbling bass pad are gorgeous, reminds me of marching... Damn the production on this is fantastic. Time well spent!
@auditasum Feb 2022
The beat + the bass absolutely slap!
@itneverhappened Feb 2022
I know how hard it is to mix an "insane amount of stems", especially with this much reverb and space (and I'm not very good at it), but this is suberbly done. Great progression and vocals. This gives me a feeling of being submerged in warm water for some reason.
The panning maybe leans a liitle heavy to the left side(?), at least on my headphones, other than that it sounds beautiful! Lush and mejestic, all the details very well balanced and clear.
@wobbiewobbit Feb 2022
lots of interesting stuff happening in this mix/arrangement. yep worth the time spent, sounds great. beautiful vocals too.
@owl Feb 2022
The panning synth is such a pleasant way to start it! Lovely production, those drums sound huge and vox as ethereal as ever, with a great slow burn build in intensity. Excellent work!
@nwnrml Feb 2022
Lovely changes in tempo and mood. Reminds of Beach House in the intro but then turns into it's own thing.
@susyblue Feb 2022
This transported me to another world immediately - such cinematic evocative yet intimate sounds here. Production is ridiculous! Thanks for the time spent, it's pretty amazing
@sailingmagpie Feb 2022
The mix sounds absolutely fantastic. Well worth the time spent. The woozy feel to the bass is great, the drums have a really nice groove and I love the whole trip hop vibe you've got going on here.
@andyt13 Feb 2022
Speaking of soundscapes! Wow!
I think we tried a Collab last year but it just didn't happen. I love you guys so if love it if we could make it happen. Ru's voices is so great!
@adforperu Feb 2022
Mix sounds great to me, love the slow growl of that synth bass, and how it doesn't clash with the bass guitar. Love the way the mix opens on the 'oh my god' part with the snares on the down beat, makes the pacing of it quite ambiguous. So many vocal delights dotted around this, creates such a cool atmosphere
@judypie Feb 2022
I’ve gone for the double! :D Love the oh my god refrain and that what is it, snare? I don’t know what things are forgive me, just the smack on it! That sounds so far widely panned I thought it was coming from the real world! Ooooh i LOVE it. Aural delight!
@lanasolyluna Feb 2022
Without looking at the title, the first thought I had was how this track is enchanting in a really dark way, so the title really works. I like the little twists and turns that keep the track engaging and take you on a little journey. This mix actually sounds really lovely, so maybe it was worth all that time you spent on it! Kind of got a late 90s Cardigans vibe at some moments.
@elliottlawrence Feb 2022
I'm getting a hint of Portishead vibes from this one! I agree, the progression on this is great. I really dig the bass, and the beat is pretty sick too. Great to hear you two are back making more music this year!
@mikedebenham Feb 2022
Well, at least all those stems gave their life for a good cause. Sounds great, instrumentally and vocally. Love how it develops from that loose languid opening into something more dark and driven. Good to hear you both again!
@musuko Feb 2022
Wow. I'm super impressed. The mix is SOO good. Sounds amazing. I love all the extras that fill in the space. The delays and reverbs, the drum progression, the bass wobbles. When the bass first comes in you can't help but grin and know you're in for a great ride. And it's awesome. Love the ethereal vocals paired with all the electronic warmth. I can say it was well worth the time you spent on it, I love it.
@caitlin Feb 2022
Ooh I’m getting some great Björk vibes - high praise!! How long did you spend on mixing this?
