My niece and I re-arranged this piece of my great grandmother's which she had written in 1937,
I often wonder how it ever started
The all-consuming love I have for you
I only know that I am broken hearted
And you are trying to show me that you're through
I'm trying to forget because it's best
Our love affair has ended like a song
The happy hours that I spent with you
In memory will live as time ticks on
You love another better, you're blessed
I wish you happiness, with no regret
She has taken the place of me
So I am trying to forget
I've tried to find the reason for our parting
My sacrifice should not have been in vain
But soon I find the bitter tear drops starting
And in my heart a lonely aching pain

This is beautiful! You took a piece of family history and opened it to the next generation.

You took an 85-year-old ancestral composition and breathed new life into it? Bravo to you and your niece, that’s amazing! I loved that harmonica solo, and you did a great job incorporating drums and bass with your uke as well. Sweet!
