Feb 2022 not-metal dunno actual-singing quite-quiet
I dunno.
Is this done?
Does it work?
Bit of a change of pace with this cos I'm kinda tired.
I keep thinking I could do more with it, but hey, it's FAWM, so here it is, and I move on! :D
On the plus side, I did all the drumming again (woo!), and I really love the vocal sounds I got from my Blue Baby Bottle mic.
Never gave a good goddamn
Never gave a bad one either
Never wanted what they offered
Never wanted their plastic jesus
Just walking my own line
Just asking for my own time
I never said I'd find it easy
I never said this way would please me
I swear I never wanted more than this
I swear I always wanted it all, not just this
I never left it all to fate
Never knew that caring was to late
I never wanted what they had
I never tore the good from bad
I swear I never wanted more than this
I swear I always wanted it all, not just this
I swear I never wanted more than this
I swear I always wanted it all, not just this

#tit4tat cant go wrong with a plastic Jesus line! You've got that drumming nailed. Lovely music to support a very reflective lyric! Ah! Choices
@mandolinda Feb 2022
#tit4tat Amazing, I did really like this song,. Made me think about life's choices, the realization of a life's pathway not taken, or not achieved. A glimmer of hope in that, can people change?
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
When those guitar riffs come swirling in the atmosphere--ahh, so nice! Chill vocals, nice drums, honest lyric, and haunting vibes.
@seanbrennan Feb 2022
Agree with the comment before me - major Nick Cave vibes. A sense of exhaustion with the world, and of a protagonist who has seen some things.
@waltermosch Feb 2022
I hope I'am not overstepping. But the song had me instantly thinking of Nick Caves Push The Sky Away album. Really nice. With a cool dark vibe..
@headfirstonly Feb 2022
I was compelled to listen to this because of its "not metal" tag, And it is indeed not metal, although the guitars that arrive at around the 90 second mark are showing definite tendencies in that direction. Non-metal Sapient vocals are an interesting innovation; Robert Smith is looking worried.
@nadine Feb 2022
I love your metal, but I also love your non-metal. Especially dark country music. But this one is a great approach on grungy alt rock -.I love the atmosphere. The ending is awesome!
@candle Feb 2022
You know me, I absolutely love your "not-metal" tunes. This has a much more alternative feel to it than the Black Country tunes you've done in the past. It works really well & the vocals are excellent. Yeah, when Sapient does not-metal, we all take note.
See You In The Shadows…

Not-Metal-Sapient was not what I was expecting today but it was what I needed! The vocals are cool, dude. Love the atmosphere you've created here. That chorus is fantastic. The drums sound really nice and full as well. Nicely done.
@speed0doyle Feb 2022
The vocal sounds great. I'll be googling that mic!
@judypie Feb 2022
Dude I’m gonna level with you. I needed a palate cleanser to get my current song out of my head. I clicked this cos I knew it would take my face off but what this?! My face is still in tact?!
Im not sure if I’ve heard this style from you before so what an awesome surprise :) Lots of bendy goodness, on the guitar not you, I can’t tell if you were bending while making this!
Love the vox treatment, espesh towards the end!
@sw1n3flu Feb 2022
Nice work dude.... I've heard enough of your non-screamy stuff to know it's you. The chorus is particularly good with that phat guitar - this tune is creepy but with a groove! Sapient does "normal"
@emplate Feb 2022
Man, your vocals are cool even in this style. You've really developed in this stuff as well. I wish I could sing clean, but I guess it would need practice or something, heh!
