You'll have to turn up the volume to hear this well. Filmed outside my Florida condo!
People are standing in sitting rooms
dying in living rooms
serving tea on coffee tables
watching "Anne of Green Gables" on cable
They're walking out of walk-in closets
plugging into outlets
slouching on couches
sparring with spouses
This is what goes on in houses
They're shooting pool in swimming pools
feeling low in high school
lunar eclipses on honeymoons
seven brides, only six grooms
Carl finds it hard to go forward
in his back yard
cos he holds a torch
for Carla on the front porch
Robert launched a rocket off his roof
and said, "To tell you the truth
it's just a tin can
attached to a firecracker and a fuse"
In Bertha's nursery
the baby stole some cutlery
and carved "Get thee to a nunnery"
into its crib as a message to his mommy
In Kim's kitchen
a clique of litigious chickens
line up their lawyers in the foyer
to argue over who will be eaten next

An epic “life in the day of” set of lyrics Scott. A pleasant mix of smiles and a hard swallow as well. I can’t imagine this sung in any other way. Golden!

This might be one of my favorite lyrics of yours I've had the priviledge of hearing. So I guess you flaunting that nice short and barefoot weather can be forgiven :D
Though it went from 12inches of ice and snow last week to 70 again here today so I can't complain too much.

Look at your nice Florida weather, pffff.
I like the song and video, cool to hear it performed live. Sounds great. Lots of nice lines in this one.

Awesome! I've never been able to see you live because the venues are always besieged by masses of crazed fans. I love the concatenation of little slices of life. For a second I thought you might be leaving your customary surrealism behind, but then you get to the part about the chickens, and disorder is restored to the ttg universe. :)

you have out-clevered yourself with the united opposites in your opening verses.

Some good word combinations there!
