Sort of an ambiguous lyric, not necessary about a specific thing, but more about the journey I guess.
V1:
I can taste it
Can almost feel it
Just out of reach
Practically in my hand
Like a dancer
Without the answer
Stepping out to the breach
Not knowing where to land
CH:
So Near, So Far
Like a shiny shooting star
The horizon, is where I wanna be
So Near, So Far
Wish I could catch it in a jar
Then I could finally set myself free
V2:
Eternal searching
With silent urging
So surprised
Will I see this mission through
Got to the station
My body shaken
Had I arrived
Was’t sure what to do
Repeat chorus

I like this a lot. Ambiguity about it is a strong point for me. Would love to hear set to music.

I like that Jeff, a dancer without an answer is a little gem. Nice one

I like the theme of looking for something, but not quite knowing what it is even though you know you need to find it: "Eternal searching/With silent urging." It's very relatable and true.

I love the opposites you chose. It is a relatable feeling and a great take on the prompt. The chorus is really good. I love the last two lines:
"Wish I could catch it in a jar
Then I could finally set myself free" -wow!

I can feel the longing and searching of the character here underlying these words. Very successful in evoking the feeling of "not quite there yet"!

Hi Jeff! Great skirmish lyric- That chorus is catchy!
" So Near, So Far Wish I could catch it in a jar." really good!

Ambiguous is fine, not everything has to be cut and dried.

Makes perfect sense and reads very well
Very good take on a prompt.

Near and far are a good choice for a philosophical take on opposites. I think the lyric shows that the difference can be a matter of perspective. I’m not sure, but it seems that the character tricked himself switching perspectives to keep going and this caused some confusion. It’s a relatable and probably universal story.

Great flow to the lyrics and some great lines and rhymes as well!
