I wrote 2 Sloth pieces for Fawm 2021 and wrote down the idea of making a third piece as an option if time allowed. Time didn't in February 2021, so that time is now!
For this piece it is at 10 Bpm, using 2 different distortion effects, and lots of layers of percussion and synths as the Sloths move along.

Evokes visions of grueling physical labor being done slowly and methodically as it grinds down on the workers in some dystopian hellscape. Pretty bleak but real, this slothcore genre is really something different and this one is the best representation I have heard!
@beat Feb 2022
Absolutely full on
Thank you for the music
Edit: ja! Contemporary dance… am all with @looprication
@looprication Feb 2022
So barely 42 beats in the whole piece? Now that's what I call SlothCore! I love how you challenge yourself in all these different ways, as if FAWM itself isn't enough of a challenge (it is for me lol).
A cinematic piece without official visuals (yet?). I can see contemporary dance being performed to this, that would be cool.
@tcelliott Feb 2022
SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!
The rhythm is so powerful... this is almost an Industrial rhythm track with those wonderfully melodic stab-like synths like icing on the hammering cake.
@metalfoot Feb 2022
10bpm! Wow. What intensity at low speed!
@elesimo Feb 2022
10 BPM is not *technically* slothcore anymore, but since the Slothcore Police is not here, who cares? This is soooooo good!
Love all the electronic noises, and I can see each hit as a step of a Megatherium moving across the landscape. So good!
@apertome Feb 2022
Oh now this is really mechanically heavy and brutal. "slothcore" is definitely a thing that needs to be. Sounds a little like doom metal like Earth or something. I mean not exactly. But . you know. I love the way the beats shuffle and pound and do weird stuff here.
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
I had never heard of Slothcore until FAWM! I feel like this song could be in a Skinny Puppy playlist! It's dark and atmospheric. I like it a lot!! @fuzzy Epic comment about robot sloths!
@aeye Feb 2022
I'm so fascinated how slothcore just took off after last year lol. Right down to sub genres etc. I love the concept of it, and this is a really good example of it. Super cool.
@fuzzy Feb 2022
Like giant prehistoric robot sloths slowly traversing the landscape, crushing everything beneath their angry claws.
Huge sound going on in my headphones.
A wonderful addition to the Slothcore genre!
@frozenlonesome Feb 2022
I dig the concept of slothcore and now have an excellent reference point to start with. I personally did the distortion and as @headfirstonly says its easy on the ears (all things considered).
Ticks all my boxes and a great listen.
@caterwauler Feb 2022
Ah, I should have listened to this one with Sirius! (But he's napping upstairs at the moment.)
Delightfully chaotic, ethereal and noisy at the same time, perfect! Slothcore at its best!
@headfirstonly Feb 2022
Whoa - that first beat takes no prisoners at all. I'm in.
Those crispy distortion effects are just the ticket; they mess things up to interesting levels, but they're nice and warm, they avoid any harshness on the upper harmonics, and are really easy on the ears. You also appear to have Nik Turner wandering through on sax occasionally. This is a good thing.
Splendid stuff.
@dragondreams Feb 2022
I have to confess I had no idea what slothcore involved. Until I heard this. That opening hit made me jump! :-D
I really, really like this. And now I feel inspired!
@engebretsen Feb 2022
#slothcore Yeah! I also tried a few pieces last year. You inspire me to be into it again. I not into this right now, but you sure inspire. That you got so much "rhythm" here with this slow bpm is amazing.
@candle Feb 2022
This is the first #slothcore song I've listened to this FAWM, & it does not disappoint. I have this odd image in my mind as I listen: there's an army of sloths marching (at a slothy pace of course!) off to war. They look pretty serious & determined, like the music.
Some of those synthy tones in the background make me think of Depeche Mode for some reason.
This is deliciously dirty & slothy. What a great addition to the #slothcore genre!
See You In The Shadows…
@dzdandcunfsd Feb 2022
So much for that nice and peaceful! I came straight from your last one. I think my socks are on the other side of the room now. Sooooo much going on in here and I'm loving it! That was pretty intense!
