v1:
looking at my watch face
the circle motion
looks like its happnin again
are you for real man
looks like ill have to hire again
is my first notion
but then i breathe
in deep
pre:
and time keeps tickin on
tick tick tick tickin on
and time keeps tickin on
tick tick tick tickin on
ch:
better late than never
wont you agree friend
I know its better never late
ill give you that win
weve got a job to do
here in the present
lets all go from here
v2:
traffic on the highway
it was raining
dog ate my homework
always the same thing
but were here now
lets get out heads right
together we can win the night
pre:
and time keeps tickin on
tick tick tick tickin on
and time keeps tickin on
tick tick tick tickin on
ch:
better late than never
wont you agree friend
I know its better never late
ill give you that win
weve got a job to do
here in the present
lets all go from here

I really like the verse lyrics, and how they contrast wit the mellow vibe. You sound resigned to situation, but hopeful at the same time. I dig it. :)

Great vocals & guitar together with the words. Overall good sounding!
Enjoyed the listen.

It's the laid back Keith, not too worried about being late. Once he gets his head straight it'll be alllll gooood! It all works together in your track. Thanks for hosting (better late than never) this skirmish.

Ahhhhh, this just makes me relax even from the opening strums... it's reminiscent of Indigo Girls to me in the delivery, I love it! Great pre-chorus... I could listen song to this on repeat!

Oh my gosh - the guitar sucked me right in - love it! I really like your voice!! Love that prechorus - really builds up anticipation for the chorus - nicely done!!

I like the shift between the two emotions in the lyrics, and then the steady music holds it all together and makes the problems feel a little smaller.

I like the laid back feel and that bass line adds a lot of richness to the song. Amazing for a skirmish.

helluva skirmish. Really enjoyed your song - most of all the way you deliver all those ticks... it's an oddly laid back song considering it also feels like the message is get on with it! :)
@aprilm Feb 2022
I really like the pre-chorus - the repetition is very effective.

Love this gentle (but funky) delivery. Your voice and style reminds me a lot of Eagle-Eye Cherry and as he, for me, was one of the best things to come out of the 90s, that's a compliment :-)
Love the "I'll give you that win!" line.

Have to hire again? Waiting for the repair man or a buddy to help you move something? Either way, the pace of the song shows an anxious free patience and acceptance of the title phrase. I like the lyrics and the pace is kinda like the slow ticking of the clock.
Thanks for hosting.

I love your conversational style, gentle and easy - making it okay to show up how ever that works. Your playing and singing are so nice to hear! Great skirmish! And thank you for hosting!
