@aprilm
Lyrics for now and welcome collaborations!
This is a story of finally reaching a place in your life where you find your peace after a long struggle to get there
@sw1n3flu
It's not *quite* where I wanted the demo to be (it is a one take, but trust me there were several!), but I think it captures how the lyrics made me feel :)
Guitar is in Open D and then capoed on 2nd fret.
V1
Take your place
Your seat's been reserved
Karma has shifted
You'll get what you deserve
Chorus
Patience is a virtue
But peace is a treasure
It took forever to find it
Better late than never
V2
Take your place
The place you have earned
You are now ready
With all you've learned
V3
Take your place
Leave the struggle behind
Open to serenity
Welcome to your tribe
Outro
Never look back
No, never look back
The storm is behind you
So never look back
Rest now, you made it
Better late than never

Love this! Great guitar and the lyrics are well sung. Interesting switch-up of chords for the last chorus, it works well to bring you back to that initial chord/groove. Cool stuff.
@guatecoop Feb 2022
You got me right from the start. Your guitar sounds great and the melody is just right. Sounds like you are getting right on it with this one--no hesitation at all. I like the sentiment of the lyrics, too, as you are expressing something so hopeful and encouraging....Trust me, I love the raw and rough messages, too, but this also comes through as completely sincere. Well done!

I think the open tuning just enhances the great, open lyric. The resonance gives a sense of resolution. Great work, to both of you.
@leka Feb 2022
Makes me want to try something with open tunings. I like everything in this!
@corinnelucy Feb 2022
I love the open chords on this, it really gives it a feeling of space. The punky delivery really helps carry these peaceful lyrics, somehow it feels so authentic.
@tunecat Feb 2022
Liking this it’s got a bit of easterners in it. Abs then it’s very hooky. Great collab
@judypie Feb 2022
Love it, nice change of pace! Especially the vox on the chorus :) Beaut collab, sounds like a song that has been around forever <3
@adnama17 Feb 2022
F*** I LOVE open D. We have torrid love affair every challenge. Never thought to capo it though. Duh.
Those chorus lyrics! Love Love Love!
@wobbiewobbit Feb 2022
what a lovely collab! the lyrics paint a lot and i seem to be the first to hear the demo with @sw1n3flu ?? i love the guitar groove, and your vocals are great, nice one both
@jwhanberry Feb 2022
This is such an economical lyric. You make your point with no extra words or rambling. Very fine skirmish. Welcome back.
@keithcuts Feb 2022
i like the inclusive nature of the tone of this song
better late and you are welcome any time essentially
nicely written!
@sheilerk Feb 2022
I love the line “ welcome to your tribe”. I think that’s something we’re all always looking for. This flows really well, and I like the progression through the verses.
@emkaydeebee Feb 2022
Like the Take your place openers in the verses, (something many of us find hard to do) and the story covered here... This feels like it's speaking directly to me, and the direction to Rest now is gratefully received! Love this.
@metalfoot Feb 2022
I love it when it ends in peace and serenity. :)
@markg Feb 2022
Ah, peace and serenity
@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
Really wonderful concise and powerful write! I love that chorus and the crisp lines that convey so much!
@dragondreams Feb 2022
What a great way to open your account this year. Terrific rhythm in the words, and a wonderful message. :-)
@berni1954 Feb 2022
Namaste! Love me a bit of positive energy and Eastern philosophy in a song.
"Open to serenity
Welcome to your tribe"
Great couplet!
@cindyrella Feb 2022
Great idea for this skirmish! So positive and great advice!
@pearlmanhattan Feb 2022
