Oh dear I've realized all of my songs so far now have an NSFW tag. I'll try not to swear in the next one.
I’m sat on a bench, in town, alone
I’m watching a man, he smiles, I know
He doesn’t love her but I’m sure
He says she’s the one, whilst he fucks her for fun, with intentions of breaking her heart
I’m looking for someone but I’m not sure who he is
I'm reaching for something but I’m not sure it exists
I’m searching for purpose but I’m more lost than I have ever been
I’m sitting with friends, in homes, they own
I’m dreaming of wandering, to places, unknown
And they love their husbands but I’m sure
They’ll look back on days, where they hated him but stayed, and they’ll wish they went chasing their pots of gold
The more you hope the more you have to lose
The more you dream the more you lose the truth
The more you learn the more you have to choose
To settle or to strive to move
Things you might not move
I’m looking for connections life can’t break
I’m looking for a spark on dark wet days
I’m looking for a friend who feels the same
I’m looking for a change
I’m looking for a change
Yeah, I’m searching for happiness in all kinds of ways
But I’m more sad than I have ever been
The more you hope the more you have to lose
The more you dream the more you lose the truth
The more you learn the more you have to choose
To settle or to strive to move
Things you might not move
But I choose (I choose)
I choose (I choose)
I choose (I choose)
hope
I choose (I choose)
I choose (I choose)
I choose (I choose)
hope

This is a very honest inner dialogue that goes back and forth from sadness to hope to desire to uncertainty and ultimately back to hope. True to life and very well done.

Love this! The flow, the rhythm of it… very cutting but poignant at same time…

Love this one! I can relate to it and I like the vagueness of it, in that the lyrics don't have a lot of specificity, but somehow they manage to home in on specific emotions anyway.
I honestly would love to set this one to music. I just don't know if I'll have time as I really need to prioritize finishing a bunch of unfinished songs of mine this month, and I'm already behind!

Cool take on the harsher realities of settling, regret, and doubt in relationships.

Great storytelling here! I really liked that line “ They’ll look back on days, where they hated him but stayed, and they’ll wish they went chasing their pots of gold,” definitely resonated with me

Lots of wonderful insight in this well-crafted lyric. Resonates with me in many ways.

Lovely writing, I just wrote something of a similar vein in my head whilst sat in Nero! Totally hear a gospel ending :D

"I’m looking for connections life can’t break
I’m looking for a spark on dark wet days
I’m looking for a friend who feels the same"
Love, love this segment. All of it is great, but that stands out. Also really like the hopeful ending. Very nicely done!
