This is a very rough demo of a song which is not my usual writing style. I took inspiration from a random word generator and arranged the lyrics into something coherent. The song will need a lot of work and may never see the light of day at a gig, but it is a song anyway.
V1
Diplomatic situation
Photographic exploitation
Subterfuge by smoke and mirror
Objects may appear much clearer
Chorus
Let's all take a moment to breathe
Can't you see we've fallen on our knees?
There may not be a cure
But I'm convinced that you're
Part of the disease
V2
Masters of procrastination
Under careful excavation
Redirect the mass opinion
Then deflect upon the minions
V3
Fear of the investigation
Loss of public reputation
Looking for that saving grace
But the truth is on your face

This is a really fun idea. Feels like those groups I loved in the early 1990s. REM and Jesus Jones and the Stone Roses and Dinosaur Junior and Poi Dog Pondering. Smart lyrics with a driving beat, and that feeling that it all means something, and feels so good to sing along to.

Really really cool man...can hear it w total XTC treatment!

Great metaphor. Yes I can hear this with full band for sure. Lovely start :) So happy you are doing FAWM again this year x

Noticing that most of the lines in the verses are made up of 8 syllables. This drives the beat as much as your strumming. Drives it home!
Love that G major to F# minor to B change. Like, "where did THAT come from?" That ear-grabbing progression and the long "eeee" at the end of those of the A lines in your AABBA chorus are awesome. Well written @mk2021

Mr. K is celebrated with good reason, Another foot-tapping, hand-clapping, thigh-slapping song. Fun with a feel of underlying heavy meaning and the magic unexpected chord to grab attention.

I enjoyed listening to this! You've got so many clever rhymes in your verses (Masters of procrastination/Under careful excavation). Amazed that there's such a clear message given that it came from a word generator!

It's certainly a song bud and delighted to see you're up and running. It might be a slightly different approach lyrically but musically it sounds like classic Matt to me. I especially like the way you've flipped the disease/cure metaphor. Good start sir!
