A rare politically inspired song. Given that another white guy is threatening yet another major punch up in Europe it seemed appropriate.
We learnt about the heroes
In Our Island Story
But we were never told
Of the price that others paid
The rich man at his castle
The poor man at his gate
A place in the world for everyone
And everyone in their place
But it's the white guys who told the stories
And it's the white guys who made the laws
And it's the white guys who plan the battles
And the white guys who start the wars
White Guys
On the playing fields of Eton
The rugger ball's kicked high
But no-one there is beaten
Despite the loser's cry
It's hard to find the answers
When the question's never asked
The controlling force's strength
Hides behind the mask
But it's the white guys who told the stories
And it's the white guys who made the laws
And it's the white guys who plan the battles
And it's the white guys who start the wars

The guitar performances and recordings on this one are really nice. Well constructed song and lyric too. One of my FAWM favorites. Well done!

Oh this is so good.

Nice write: the "question never asked" is indeed close to the heart of our current problems.

Well done! this asks questions that have not been asked enough, and its a really effective way to deliver this thought. Nice demo as well- everything works here! great job!

Beautiful melody here. Straight-forward delivery of matter of fact lyrics. Good device coming into the chorus on the major and going out on the melancholy in that minor fall. Hell of a chorus! Well done.

It's certainly hard to NOT have some political content in songs these days. Of course it does open one up to comments from the 'other side'!
The lead guitar is tasteful and fits right in between the choruses. Solid write on this song!
