Feb 2022 acoustic guitar mellotron
This is about coming to terms with losing your mind, I think. Or just suddenly seeing things differently.
pardon me but i appear to have misplaced my marbles
be a dear and help me find them
to be fair i bid them good riddance
i've grown weary of the same old same old same old
can the sky
somehow suddenly grow larger?
can the moon
be more than full?
today it seems like it does
and today it seems like it is
excuse me but there's something wrong with all my clocks
they're running backwards and i don't think they should
to be honest i prefer them this way
it's reassuring when one follows two
can the stars
somehow rearrange their order?
can the sun
for a change set in the east?
tonight it seems like they have
and tonight it seems like it does

Btw, a real mellotron or a plugin? I have the EHX mellotron pedal - you've inspired me to dig it out for my next song

Wow, what a corker! The lyrics really captures what it feels like when one loses one's grip on the rodeo that we call life. Adore the chorus - the modulation is perfect and has a feel that is somewhere between Jacques Brel and Burt Bacharach & and you can't get better than that.

Sounds like you're channeling the Moody Blues songbook here -- the mellotron (perfect), acoustic guitar, trippy lyrics. Good work!

Mellotron and the melody reminds me of old King Crimson, and that is never a bad thing. I love this song.

Great performance, your voice and the guitar sound wonderful and warm.
@arthurrossi Feb 2022
Oh, I love the sound of this guitar... it has such a lovely, warm feel to it... What a beautiful tender melody, all comes so nicely here together, and I really enjoy your vocal delivery of these gorgeous lyrics...

i like all the questions in the lyrics - I think I do that too, glad to see I'm not alone. the fingerpicking sounds beautiful, a really nice progression, and the mellotron backing is also lovely. sad and wistful with a few whispers of hope

Oh, this is lovely -- I really love the turning upside down and all round of time and the cosmos and -- well, I feel like I've lost my marbles and sometimes I find just enough of them to look like I'd pass for having them. So this just flew for me! And the swooping background music working with and against the foreground melody and picking: gorgeous.

The mellotron strings lend a haunting sound to the intro, but then really fill in the background as the song progresses, providing a soundscape behind the wonderfully played guitar..

So evocative, deep and full of feeling.
I find your vocal delivery just perfect for the subject and the mood created by the background instruments.
Love it :)
