Unusual for me is a song in 3/4 timing. Pretty obvious what the subject of the song is, the "Interesting Times" we have all lived though recently. I was personally not massively affected as I was in the "work from the sofa" cohort but the damage done by insane policies from mendacious/corrupt/stupid (delete as appropriate for your country) politicians has been breathtaking.
How do you explain some of the unbelievable decisions? Well I definitely subscribe to the "Follow the Money" theory. where. did the money move from and too?
Vocals by Bill White. I think his authentic delivery of the words is great and very believable.
Words and Music by me.
How do you know when a politician is lying?
Their lips move.
The very definition of dystopia is world run by bureaucrats, scientists and doctors. We tried it, how did you like it?
Peace and continued good health to all.
V1
And when I try
To work it all out
It slips from my grasp
Makes me want to shout
Why are you trying
To tie me down?
The boot’s on my neck
As I lie on the ground
CH
Follow the money
Follow that trail
We’ve been taken for a ride
On a global scale
How do I know
They’re lying to me
I saw their lips move
And that’s all that I need (2)
V2
How many died?
Well you don’t need to know
Just check in your wallet
‘Afore ye go
Orwellian world
Big brother’s wet dream
Open your eyes
You’ll see what I mean

The fire in the backing and the rage? despair? in the vocals is just super powerful, and those guitar solos stitching the whole into an seriously explosive bundle... Applause!

Who could have sung this with such truth and passion as Bill? Great collaboration and great guitar solos winding in and around the track.

This sounds fantastic. The guitars really wail. The Waits/Dylanesc vocals work really well in the mix and I enjoyed those little glitchy parts. This is great, wonderful Collab.

The sound and vibe of this (including the music, the arrangement, and that perfect-for-this lead singer ya have there, (shout out to Bill White!) is perfect for this. (I'm less on board with 'all scientists and politicians are totally corrupt at all times' , etc., but that's a different discussion) An appropriately epic feel.

Cool collab!
Powerful music to go along with the powerful lyric.
Yep, their lips move and so do their hands.... into our wallets
@sbs2018 Feb 2022
So very true! Crazy making to say the least. Nice to hear your vocals again, Bill. Awesome guitar. Stellar collab!
@gm7 Feb 2022
So current. The vocals are great and that 3/4 gives a total different feel the the songs movement...Great playing as always. Great collab.
@tukayandryan Feb 2022
Great collab. Timing works really well. On point at the moment too.

You’re really pulling no punches this FAWM, Dave, I love it! Bill’s vocal fits like a glove, perfect choice. The waltz timing really amps up the foreboding and sinister vibe. Love the ‘how do I know they’re lying? I saw their lips move’ - such a cool phrase. Oh and that slightly random ending is weirdly fitting - keep that!
@jcooper Feb 2022
This is fantastic. Timely subject line and heartfelt vocal delivery.
@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
Wow this is really brilliant! The bass line and the guitar add a wonderful depth and driving darkness to the music making a perfect stage for Bill’s spot on vocals. Love this!
