Early evening of one of my days off, and the dogs in my buildings are randomly barking their heads off on balconies and in hallways, so naturally I'm picturing them venting after tense commutes from central business districts.
The racket in my apartment parking lot
Violent and noisy full of venom bile and rot
I wasn’t low enough to make out a position
Not high enough to avoid any ammunition
I remembered my binoculars I went and stole a peek
What I saw was so surprising I could barely speak
I went into shock and I couldn’t believe my eyes
Two talking dogs on their hindlegs in suits and ties
One told the other "If I thought you were good at you did
You wouldn’t be at the other end of me you snotnosed kid
Now I have to break you down for parts
Now is when you find that the pain starts"
The other one said "It starts with my paws on your windpipe
Several squeezes later till my teeth you look ripe
A blank state stretching out towards infinity
Then I drag you around this lot so all can see"
I was still in shock, I couldn’t believe my eyes
Two talking dogs on their hindlegs in suits and ties
Started shivering, it was more than I could take
Then I nearly fell out of bed: I’d shivered myself awake

What a story, holy hell. This is so unusual and interesting in terms of the songwriting and arrangement. I dig it!

Funny and surreal. I like the way the music supports the surreal tone of the narrative.

Hilarious. Until the very end I was trying to sort through the deeper meaning of the lyrics. I was pretty certain I wasn't smart enough to understand what was going on. That last line shivered me awake too! Good one...

Groovy. Weird, but groovy. Excellent turn at the end -- didn't see that coming at all.
