I guess it's what's called a self-fulfilling prophecy: when you set out to write a song about the wonder of wasting time, you produce something along the lines of what we have here. So many brilliant ideas went into this; I'm not sure how many survived the ordeal. There are some cool moments in there if you can stick it out (c'mon, its less than 2 minutes, you can stick it out).
Fishin’ for recognition, sympathy
Rehydration creativity
It’s all up to me
(oh poor you)
Ah the joy of mediocrity
Optimizing productivity
It bores me into apathy
(why so serious?)
(what did I miss?)
[3]
See me seeking equilibrium
(I’m fine)
And the blessed bliss of ignorance
An inconsistency!
(Like, I think… like what do you think?)
<vocal adlib>
Wasted walking out along the ledge
(Look where my hand was)
Missing something haven’t found it yet
<How do I work this?>
and yet, and yet, and yet
<my god what have I done>
Wasted time
(same as it ever was, same as it ever was)
Wasted time
(same as it ever was, same as it ever was)
Wasted time
(same as it ever was, same as it ever was)
Wasted time
(same as it ever was, same as it ever was)

The ‘vocal ad-lib’ section just cracked me up. The pop pop sound you’re making is brilliant - procrastination in aural form. As per the below, nice Talking Heads moment at the end, but the song’s already pretty darn cool by that point anyways!

Who doesn't love the Talking Heads. That was worth the wait...Although I was in there for the long haul anyways...Good stuff.

Was that a Talking Heads reference??? Why yes it was..... The Heads would have loved this song,.... and I did too!!!

I love the airy, layered vocals, as well as the little spoken bits. The beat is really fun here. Loving the Talking Heads homage.
