Feb 2022 instrumental post-rock capo-challenge
La la la, it's Friday, I had a rough day. I had no clue what I was going to do tonight, saw the Capo Challenge thread, https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12470/ . So I popped a capo on fret 7 of my guitar, and fingerpicked a light E7 B7 C G. Something about the chord progression reminded me of "Hotel California," I added few more layers, a fake drummer, and a "Maggot Brain" style, juicy, slow, guitar solo over most of it. Then I wanted one of those wanky post-rock LOUD parts (which are f*ing awesome btw), but thought it would be funny if it petered out almost immediately. After all this, I didn't think it needed vocals! But I still needed a title, saw my empty beer bottles, and voila.
None. It is a "Post Rock" song, after all.

Yeah, I'm reminded of "Hotel California" in the chord progression. I like the electric guitar arpeggios and the relaxed drumming. The lead guitar is very colourful. Then the fuzzy distorted guitar comes in for a while, before the dynamics calm down. Nice slow burn track, reminds me somewhat of Pink Floyd's instrumentals.

I love the slow build epic nature of this. It feels vast. It travels so far. Brilliant!

This is great! I like the stylish way how you use the effects. Beautiful melody too. Loud part is awesome indeed.

Actually reminds me of pavement in some ways / some parts. Lovely song enjoyed it. Love the lead tone and playing.

The Hotel California vibe works well for the nightcap(o?) theme. A great chill, sit back & sip your drink sort of track. Enjoyed every second of this one.

This was a great listen. The music had so much variation throughout but was so smooth as a whole. I am not a musician, so I can only say it that I truly enjoyed all of it.

i really enjoyed this. love the guitar tone on the lead stuff. around the 3 minute mark it started reminding me of pavement in all the right ways. love how short the loud rock part was. i too found it to be funny. nice job dude!

This builds so nicely. As the creator of the #capochallenge, I say you won at using a capo as well!
That guitar is slow and damn juicy and I love the loud part. I agree, it didn't need vocals - this rocks!
