Song two! I had a glimmer of an idea for this and when I saw the week 1 challenge I thought I better work on it now. The phrase 'touch a toe to moss' came to me as I was out walking. You just never know where things like that will lead.
Touch a Toe to Moss
Touch a toe to moss, let your heart be merry
Feel the velvet, lush and green
Whither shall you wander in the wildwood?
Beauty shine in every scene
Tender are the budlings, flits the sparrow
Birch and ash and oak and thorn
Foot it round the ancients, hail their branches
Magic time is early morn
All is peaceful, all is holy
When you enter nature’s blessed realm
All is honest, all is wonder
When you enter nature’s blessed realm
Touch a finger gently to a violet petal
Smell the fragrance, bless the glade
Hear the burbling music of the brooklet
Never finer tune was played
Sweeter is the time spent in the forest
Jewels and laces, silk and scent
Wending through the valley, soft and vibrant
Happy hours, time well spent
All is peaceful, all is holy
When you enter nature’s blessed realm
All is honest, all is wonder
When you enter nature’s blessed realm

I love the way the senses wander through the natural world full of wonder and the feeling of meandering prayer and meditation.

Wonderful images, Leslie. And the whole song has a pastoral feel, the melody and chords. Really nice!

I really like your use of the week 1 challenge, it makes for a great title/ line. I especially like the line "Whither shall you wander in the wildwood?" - It is so nicely crafted and poetic!

"Touch a toe to moss" is a fantastic line - I love the alliteration and the way it trips off the tongue. The 3/4 waltz feel to the song is a perfect accompaniment to the lyrics. And you have so many great lines like "Sweeter is the time spent in the forest" and "Tender are the budlings, flits the sparrow." A timeless song!

This is your signature work-very attuned to nature and the colors and scents around you. If I didn't know who wrote it I'd know it was you!

Wow, this is cool writing. Could you get more magickal references in here? We need to have #pagan thread in the Forums. There are others here.
Assume this is general pagan and not just Imbolc. Still working on that one!
