Well this was a big lyric - I had to use the full hour - I sang it almost freestyle then had to go back and write the words - one or two I couldn’t remember so had to guess!
Stared at the church i went to last Sunday
The one where I paid my respects to you
Was like an arrow to my heart
A blow to all I know
Now the symphony is playing its final bow
Oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo
I still remember yesterday
Thought it would be like today
But its all so different now
Oo oo oo Oo oo oo
Branches sway in the vagrant breeeze
Blowing memories past but never gone
Those past years are the safe ones
Not like the vanquished ones
Real Formidable but unseen foe
Oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo
I still remember yesterday
Thought it would be like today
But its all so different now
Oo oo oo Oo oo oo
I sit and stare at the shifting clouds
Seeing only the shapes I want to
Then like my life they just get blown away
Leaving only blank sky behind
Then anything good is just a memory
Oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo
I see the cascading rivers and streams
Bringing new hope and abundance
They wash awayall the unhappiness
Left inside of me
Now I am ready to take on the world again
I still remember yesterday
Thought it would be like today
But its all so different now
Oo oo oo Oo oo oo
its all so different now

That deep voice, the choruses and the strings behind... I'm getting a strong Leonard Cohen vibe here. I just read the lyrics and the comparision keep aplying : your beautifull images and comfort-a-broken-heart bitter words make to lands of feeling I've travelled with Hallelujah or Chealsea hotel.
It's not an easy artist to be compared to and to. But you did a really great job !
#tit4tat 5/5 but I think I'm just gonna keep listening to your stuff a while.

Love the flowing beautiful instrumental. Great lyrics and great song for just one hour - wow!

Lovely song you skirmished! Ready to take on the world!

This is stunning! Amazing you could do this so quickly. I so love these lyrics-and what a performance!

This a true Requiem.
So many great lines, but I especially like the verse that begins "Branches sway..." that is wonderful.
Amazing how you managed to arrange this so beautifully in the time set for a skirmish!

The music feels so "warm" and "harmonic", right the way a symphony is expected to be and feel... I really enjoy what way you took it here musically... The words suit the general feel and topic awesomely, great flow here as well. The "oo oo"-parts are a very nice element here, too...

Very nice work for the hour. The dark tone to your vocal is really potent.

Wow, these lyrics took you just one hour? How do you do that?
Beautiful ebb and flow, the words seem to imply rhythmic changes between chorus and verses.

I like the angle of a symphony marking a transition point. It does a lot to anchor the story. It’s certainly ambitious to try to take on this much of a story in an hour, but it works.

Wow, this is a very rich piece for a skirmish! The strings and piano work really well. It is, as you say, a very big lyric. Lots in here to think on, nice piece

like it - especially the 'strings' in the arrangement
