Just imagining the voice of the generations who had their futures stolen and decide to steal it back.
If anyone wants to play around with this, as always feel free to change the words as much as you want, but just keep the T-E-N-E-T structure.
(And, yeah, obviously inspired by the movie!)
We asked of you
We begged of you
We are done asking
We are done asking
You had your time
You had your chance
To do something
To do something
Now how does it feel
To be the ones begging
Now how does it feel
To be the ones crying
You had your time
You had your chance
To do something
To do something
We asked of you
We begged of you
We are done asking
We are done asking

I am not familiar with the movie, but these words are ominous. Interesting writing.

Really powerful and universal. I love a lyric that doesn't waste words.

Really powerful lyrics here. I went and watched a trailer for the movie to understand a bit better; it seems like a cool movie. You can feel the tension in the lyrics and the simmering explosion waiting to happen.

This is what the world needs to hear, everyone, everywhere ...

You pared this down to the core words, and the rhythm and structure are tight. Well done.

It's amazing how powerful these words are : it's a short text, yet the message is strong and clear ; the message itself is simple, and I suppose that's why it is so effective. I like that I don't even feel anger reading this, but rather acceptance. The symmetry of the structure is also very clever : the central verse weighs more than the ones around it. Excellent lyrics.

I love the rhythm in these words, Daniel!
May I tackle them as a spoken word piece please? I don't do the singy thing. ;-)

Good to see you writing again, Daniel! Wonderful lines. Love the repeats.
@sapient Feb 2022
Very strong words!
Musically this could go in so many directions... and I think I'm most strongly getting it slowly rolling over the closing credits of a film.
Super-evocative. Love it.

So good to see a song from you! I love the lyrics, they're direct and straight to the point. I haven't seen the movie yet, will add it my list!
