I just wanted to make some slow music. Playing the piano was quite relaxing; the same Cmaj7 almost all the way through. But I had a bit of a hard time with the Duduk. As always, it had it's own agenda.
Actually I don't even know how to improvise properly. So on the Duduk I was just trying to play something new, unplanned without playing too many wrong notes. Not too hard one might think, since my Duduk only has notes of the Cmajor scale. But improvising over only one scale is oftern harder than I think.

The piano has a really beautiful tone. Those broken chords have such a gentle spareness about them that really works under the duduk - which is a new instrument to me, and it sounds utterly wonderful. Thanks so much for introducing me to it.

Nice ! It remnids me of the intention behind the album "Promises". Was it an influence of yours ?

very atmospheric. Lovely piece :)

Lovely write: the phrasing and pauses grab the ear. The unusual, woody sound of the duduk is marvelous in the jazzy, dark setting.

Such a great idea to use a mourning duduk on a jazzy / classical ttheme. Kudos!
