The writing prompt was burn. This was a special challenge for me after writing a fire song yesterday.
You want the rocket fuel to ignite you
An enemy to fight you
A level that will right you
From your skew
You want the regimen to follow
A pill that you can swallow
A mantra that will call all
Things to you
You play a dangerous game
Be careful with that flame
Passion is a double edged sword
It’s a force that will drive you forward
But it might run you right into the boards
Oh
Passion is a double edged sword
You want the candle with the glow
To know the things you know
A place with torches where you go
To chant your chants
You want that laser kind of focus
Some magic hocus pocus
The rally cry that broke us
From our trance
You play a dangerous game
Be careful with that flame
Passion is a double edged sword
It’s a force that will drive you forward
But it might run you right into the boards
Oh
Passion is a double edged sword

This is a great song, skirmish or not. The lyrics are solid, smart and the chorus is really catchy.

I like that you carried the double edged sword thorugh different objects - a candle, a laser, a rocket, a mantra - Clear imagery and great performance! Thank you! Great skirmish!

"Passion is a double edged sword" is a good hook. Perfect for you to shout it out.

Nice and true idea. The good And the bad of passion really hits the mark with songwriters. Contrast in the lines is great. Well written and sung with passion.

Passion is defo a dangerous game, and often mistook for love. I can relate to this for sure.
The pre chorus builds into the chorus nicely.

I love the inventive rhymes here, especially focus-pocus-broke us. Nice response to the skirmish!
