Sounds in the Ocean
Same as in my body
Do you hear love songs, Comin from my mouth?
Medicinal waters
Soak through my skin
Sunbeam penetrates
to you, to you
Oh the ocean waves they carry me, sweet melody
Mmm, mmm
A Melody so old it knows
Limbic imprint tattooed on our soul
It circles round our life to let us know
I will be ok
A layer of protection
No worries we're bound for connection
Oh the ocean waves they carry me, sweet melody
Mmm, mmm
A melody so old it knows
Limbic Imprint tattooed on our soul
Far from home
Lovers mourn
I will be ok
Painful birth
At the end of the end
I will be ok, I will be ok
Oh the ocean waves they carry me

Beautiful. Your voice has such great floaty texture to it. These melodies use it well.

@berni1954 thank you for your thoughtful response! the song weaves together many things for sure. I started to think about the limbic imprint as a melody of protection or reassurance that, through it all, you will be ok. That our mothers mothers mothers sang this into us and also as old as the mother ocean and the cosmos. And that this melody is then passed down to our own children. Kind of a magical story.

Oh you had me for the first lines. What a soulful voice you've got (great harmonies later too).
This is a song that is private (in that you don't spell out exactly the circumstances of your narrator) and yet manages to be universal enough to not be totally obscure.
I have often wondered if the origin of astrology was due to limbic imprints of babies maturing at different seasons. The seasons surely having an effect on mothers at different times of the gestation. This in turn would have a general effect on the baby's development which might be reflected in shared characteristics of children born at a certain period that the "ancients" noticed. If I am right, then all the attributes of, say, an Aries born in the Northern Hemisphere should be noticed in children born 6 months later in the Southern Hemisphere.
