Feb 2022 collab
I never initiated a collab before. littlespiral had these lyrics posted as needing music. and I fell in love. I changed a few lines to fit the song structure.
Lyrics- Little Spiral
Music- CubiZm
Next time I'm a tree
Next time I'm a tree
My brain will be 40 feet tall
And I would sense it all
Next time I'm a tree
Next time I'll be
A tree
My feet would be
Permanently
in my food
Xylem will flow
Not intrude
Slowly i grow
From a sapling seed
Next time I'll be
A tree
My edges would splinter
deep into the sky
I'd see all of you pass by
Hummingbirds to my eyes
I'll never know why
You people can't slow down
When this go-round is complete
I'll be a tree
Next time I'm a tree
Next time I'll be
A tree

Really EFFECTive use of effects to pad out a human with electric guitar arrangement. I love the visual imagery in spiral’s lyrics (splinter into the sky is a favorite). A delightful collab!

Excellent collaboration. Music and lyrics join seamlessly. Nice lyrics and I particularly like the guitar part and singing on this one.

This came up randomly and I was very surprised to see this was a collab, you really made these lyrics your own. The music fits the pensive mood perfectly. Also lyrically, great imagery to describe something I am not sure I've heard a song explicitly about before. Well done

Moody and free at the same time. These lyrics are well-suited to your style. Kudos on this collab!

Heidi, I love this. Such a unique POV. This fits in with the weekly theme of body parts.

This has a kind of last track on the album feel - almost Patti Smith-esque. It's a nice kind of daydream song.

Oh I love this!! You took it in a new direction and it's exciting to hear my words come through your melody and dreamy guitar. I think the word changes make sense for the music. Approved! Love it!

My brain will be 40 feet tall And I would sense it all. Really like what you did with the guitar line and it sounds good on the gretsch
@sherrylynnlee Feb 2022
Great creative concept, nicely done :)
@apolez3 Feb 2022
Liking the guitar strums; I'm thinking that the lyrics are talking about the enjoyment of becoming a tree in the next life and some reasons to why they are looking forward to it!

I like the sparse notes and the vocal delivery... you kept the sadness of the lyrics. Lovely seeing these lyrics in music.
