Some lyrics from Geoff left over from FiftyNinty. @geoff61
Geoff can explain himself more clearly what the message is but i definitely think we are looking at the horrors of civil wars and local conflicts which sometimes pitch brother against brother.
Musically this takes a lot from Pink Floyd, particularly the lead solos, of which I quite proud given my limited ability in that area.
I guess Geoff can republish these lyrics for FAWM and they will count towards his target.
THE TRUTH
I’ve got visions in my forehead,
I’ve got blood on both my hands.
The sound of someone dying,
The truth lies in the sand.
Not trying to find a reason,
Why the demon follows me,
He’s takes me up and pulls me down,
For everyone to see.
This story’s told with facts and lies,
To make it clear for you.
The people came to hear this song,
To get the truth at last.
It ran away.
Don’t look in my eyes,
They’re glancing down,
I’m staring at my shoes.
Say what you want,
It won’t bother me.
I’m living with the blues.

When the war came here,
And all the lights grew dim,
We went into the hills.
You could still hear the screams,
You could see the rape,
And vultures took to wing.
You die a little when you live a lot,
There’s a price for everything.
Don’t try to keep a record,
Cos’ we left a peace behind.
Of all the missing people,
And the graves you’ll never find.
Don’t look in my eyes,
They’re glancing down,
I’m staring at my shoes.
Say what you want,
It won’t bother me.
I’m living with the blues.

Don’t preach to me about what you saw,
A sinner has to sin.
Let this be a lesson,
So the victory can begin,
The war is lost, the treaty signed,
There’s blood on every street.
The guilt of the fathers
On the faces of all you meet
If you listen carefully,
For the faces and the names.
When you walk upon the land,
Their memories will remain.
Don’t look in my eyes,
They’re glancing down,
I’m staring at my shoes.
Say what you want,
It won’t bother me.
I’m living with the blues.

This is so powerful with the lyrics that speak the reality on war. The music captures the angst and is so well done. It is so well done and chilling. Love the chorus.

I really love the first verse. It sets up the story perfect. And I agree with @geoff61 about @daveyboy103's vocal. It's perfect for this!

This is so good!

TBH, these lyrics are not new and there is another version of this in song form but I prefer Dave's version, I know he thinks his voice isn't the best but it always has a 'real' quality to it.

These are powerful lyrics. The 80's metal ballad fits perfectly. The music is great, and I particularly enjoyed the solo around 3:15. Terrific collaboration!

Powerful delivery. I love the lyrics in the chorus. I feel that angst and emotion of I've been wronged and I need to speak it. Congrats.

For sure Pink Floyd vibes and also 80's metal. Great work, it is a hard genre to dive into. I also do like efforts on the Peace theme.More songs on Peace, Love and Understanding is what I say. Peace

Cool 80's power ballad feel and amazing guitar work. Touching and sincere lyrics and the music matches them perfectly.
