Feb 2022 short fipple recorder fipplecore alternative instrumental baritone-guitar
Hell yes. Another recorder tune. :-D
And I got a new toy recently. When I tried it in the shop I loved it. But when I went back to buy it, it had sold. But they ordered me another - and said between 1 and 3 months delivery lead time. Which would have been well after FAWM. However, they found one in another of their stores. It arrived a couple of days ago. An Alvarez ABT60 baritone acoustic. And this is its debut.
The recorder is the usual Moeck Rottenburgh tenor. No amp this time. Just the recorder into Reaper with some ambient reverb added. Drums are MT Power Drumkit VSTi. Bass is Sire Marcus Miller M7 six string.

Ok, I think I should save my money to buy a recorder. Screw electric guitars - just kidding. Perfect music I imagine for a D&D campaign. Like the 6/8 and the tone of the flute is so soothing with the slightly metal ballad drumming.
@mosley Feb 2022
That baritone sounds rad! I totally dig your sound man
@audrey Feb 2022
Oh, I was enjoying this so much, and then it ended. You should extend it. Here I am telling you what to do. Lol. Sorry, I just didn't want it to end. I love that opening melodic phrase. Maybe you could return to it and perhaps even expand on it. It's lovely. I also like the melodies that follow it, but that opening one is a gem. So nice to hear a recorder. Feels like a refreshing sound after all the guitar music on here. I love the guitar too, but the recorder is a nice change. There's just something a little haunting about its tone. You've created a beautiful piece of music here Paul. Had to listen twice. I love it!!
@bandybum Feb 2022
Beautiful piece. Uplifting, full of hope and longing. Takes me to a groovy Hobit's Shire :)
@guatecoop Feb 2022
Wow, the baritone with a recorder! This is so pleasant and well done. The chord changes are unexpected but make brilliant sense to me. Loads of texture and layers going on and they are just where they should be. Beautiful!
@ghukes Feb 2022
wonderful feeling and movement to this piece.
@aflinner Feb 2022
Nice one! Something about this makes me feel like hobbits stumbled across a few modern instruments and invented rock. Good use of baritone guitar too...I work in a music store, and a friend of mine ordered an ABT60 that did take months to come in. When it did, it arrived with a crack ::facepalm::. Fortunately, we were able to replace it for him pretty quickly. Glad you got yours!
@tunecat Feb 2022
You are clearly on fire - the time of the recorder is stunning. Well it all sounds beautiful and I’m transported back in time to frolick with my ancestors s as b DC maybe some mythic creatures in s firsts probably in wales
@zecoop Feb 2022
Anytime you get the recorder out, it is going to be an amazing sonic experience. Your playing is so beautiful… but my attention goes suddenly to that gorgeous acoustic baritone! Obviously that is a thing, but not one I really even knew existed. Beautiful top to bottom!
@jorh Feb 2022
This felt very wholesome, like meandering through a small village on the hill on a warm summers day. Nice little change up into the guitar at the end too. My only complaint was that it didn’t go on longer!
@pippa Feb 2022
I like the medieval feel, and the wayward melody. Very nice.
@heliosonorous Feb 2022
Cool, has a folk style to this one, I like all these recorder tracks you have done so far!
@judypie Feb 2022
Yes I totally feel a medieval vibe too. I feel like I’m meandering through the fruit market. Did they have fruit back then? It’s a pretty ditty with a hint of mystery:)
@dzdandcunfsd Feb 2022
Baritone sounds great, but so does everything else. Its got an almost midieval vibe to the piece. Like a very long on foot journey through some pretty countryside.
I've only ever owned one baritone and it was possibly the ugliest guitar I've ever had. It was this putrid aqua lime green color, and on the sides and bindings even had like a popcorn grout.. just like a swimming pool. Sounded great though lol
@blindkiwi Feb 2022
Nooooo, it was over all too soon. Swoony track DD, Hope I get to hear more of that baritone.
@williamjames Feb 2022
Cool melodies and the acoustic sound great! A very cool feel good song!
@beat Feb 2022
Oh, tis you again. Am getting the feeling that this is becoming a habit, me stumbling into your tracks ;]. Your so fast…
Ja. Very nice atmosphere
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
Love this! I love recorders anyway, and it's so nice to hear them being used here. I have to get mine out. Thanks for the inspiriation!
@richaaaay Feb 2022
Masterful...
@darcistrutt Feb 2022
I like the depth of the baritone sound. I'm enjoying the recorders this FAWM. You have such a smooth flow with all instruments!
@gammafied Feb 2022
I'm learning so much during this FAWM. I've never heard of a baritone guitar. Sounds almost prog like. I like the winding twisting melody. I really like the end where the drums drop out. Nice effect. Masterful playing as always.
@ajna1960 Feb 2022
Beautiful, floating, ephemeral and haunting, all without being too airy fairy :)
Love the sound of that recorder - which was it please ?
@tamsnumber4 Feb 2022
I want to learn how to play my recorders, they have such a great sound in this, just love listening, such a great start to the day, never realized how hopeful and sweet the recorder could sound!
@altum Feb 2022
Oh man, this is cool! Feels really mysterious without sounding dark or oppressive - that's a hard thing to achieve. More of this please!
I'm also very partial to a baritone, I had a project a few years ago where I wrote a couple tracks for dual baritone guitars. Have a look on Youtube for 'Awen Temple' if you're interested!
@lcad Feb 2022
You can really play that thing, I'm impressed! Short and sweet on this one but a really fun tune!
@lowhum Feb 2022
Used to have a wooden one from Poland. Great sound on this one. If you are onto that line ofinstruments, might want to try the hulusi.
