Feb 2022 rock zecoopdrums
@zecoop so kindly offered some drum tracks to work with, so here's my take on his track number 5 pretty much as is.
Unusually for me in a major key and quite a straightforward light rock piece.
I thought I was being original with the lyrics but then I noticed it's just Under The Sea from Little Mermaid rephrased. Oh well.
#zecoopdrums
up here the grass is green
and the birds so sweetly sing
it has me wondering
why kindness is seldom seen
up here the sunlight
it burns our skin
we resort to ways of sin
and grovel in plight
curse these lungs
i can't breathe underwater
curse these lungs
i can't breathe underwater
down in the murk below
away from prying eyes
away from stormy skies
tides turning slow
the inviting ocean
it beckons me
for once to be free
in gentle motion
curse these lungs
i can't breathe underwater
curse these lungs
i can't breathe underwater

@zecoop 's drum tracks rock as usual, and you make good use of this one. I like your bluesy guitar that you hang the verses over -- very effective. The lyrics and your multi-tracked vocal delivery are quite good, too. Really enjoyed listening to this. Thanks for sharing! #tit4tat

Nice rocker with that cool guitar riff. Catchy chorus. The arrangement has a great flow and the production is solid.

I really like the tension between "I want to get away" and "I can't survive away", it's too true! And the music is so well put together -- it's really impressive!

Awesome! What a well put made track, excellent guitars and vocals. Solid melody and composition. This is totally great!

Hail fellow zecoopdrums fan! :)
I love your song - a great feel and mix.
@zecoop Feb 2022
WOW! You completely immersed the drums into this wonderful song. Such a joy to listen to. Awesome tones on both the guitars and THAT BASS! What a wonderful composition. So glad I could be a part of it! You did all the heavy lifting, though. Great job.

Very nice - great groove (props to @zecoop for the drums), and you've taken it all up a level. The vocal delivery is really nice - great rhythm, particularly on the last lines of the verse. Super guitar tones and a really cool solo.

You're on a roll! A nice jangly psychedelic rock piece. Love it.

Fqbulous groove. Classic fish out of water imagery. Well done.

Ihanan letkeää! (That means "wonderfully groovy" in english... or something like that)
@datsch Feb 2022
What a great listen! Love super crunchy guitar (real amp?) and the actually quite tastefully sparse arrangement that is still really full-sounding. Solid lyric concept too, don't sweat any parallels, it's a good song. Top marks to @zecoop too ,,,

This is such a fun concept for a song! You allude to one reason for wanting to breathe underwater is a lack of kindness here on land, and I think that’s a really compelling idea. It’s also super catchy!
