So I have been taking note of the Twitter prompts and some of them have been really inspiring to me! This is a mash up of prompt 9 "imagine you're an astronaut" and prompt 6 "use only 14 words in a song" - I originally played this on my guitar but thought this was time to spread my FAWM wings and go a bit different - so this could be the first song of 2022 by the made up band 'Mandolin Fire'
here are my 14 words
Satellite, Burning, Through, My, Night, Holding, You, So, Tight, Solitary, Escaping, Follow, The, Light! I'm totally not counting the 'ohhhhh' as a word
Satellite
Burning through My Night
Satellite
Holding you so tight
Satellite
Burning through My Night
Satellite
Holding you so tight
Ohhhhhh
Escaping my night
Ohhhhhh
Follow the light
My Solitary Satellite
Solitary Satellite
Satellite
Burning through My Night
Satellite
Holding you so tight

Wow, the instrumental is SO good, and the vocals add yet another dimension to it. I like how you combined two prompts from FAWM's twitter, as well. Nicely done!

Very nice Celine

Whoa! This is epic, Celine (or should I say… Mandolin Fire). How is this not an artist favourite?! It’s mind-blowing. Love the finger snaps, then those ginormous synths take over, beautiful top line vocal too. The whole thing is an experience. I really really enjoyed it. You should spread those FAWM wings more often :)

Trippy man. You’ve done well to make it so awesome out of so few words. Really enjoyed it. Don’t you go abandoning your banging country tunes for minimalist techno sci-fi pop forever though. Seriously though, well selected words and melody to make it evocative without many ingredients. A triumph.

This is lovely. Space traveling, I can feel the dark universe and the bright satellite. Well done, Mandolin Fire.
@thefifthsister Feb 2022
Oh my word. This is really beautiful and you nailed these prompts so well. What a trip you took me on here. Felt like I was floating with that music. Really love the treatment on your vocals too - really lends to the mood
@jlampson Feb 2022
I don't have anything to add to what others have said but wanted to come on and let you know how much I dug this! Sometimes forced minimalism can give us something super awesome like in this case!
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
Beautiful and very cool. I really like the limitations here, and you sound great! Nice job.
@blueone Feb 2022
Woah now! This sounds so cool, When it picks up ever so slightly at 1:40ish... love that. And the vocals are sounding pretty spot on with that tracking :D
@cicpisces Feb 2022
Amazing what a super atmospheric piece you created with only limited vocals. Tribute to your musicianship. 80s vibe. Cool synths. What's not to love.
@aeye Feb 2022
This is so good. Really spacey and synthy. I'm honestly not sure what else to say.
@andygriff Feb 2022
Wow this is different, but I'm loving the synths and fingerclicks. Great atmosphere. Really impressed. You're cooking!
@tukayandryan Feb 2022
Oooh Mandolin Fire are smoking!!
Love that you have gone out of your comfort zone. Synths are ace!! Actually love this!!! 80s goodness!!
@splittybooms Feb 2022
Oh wow that astronaut prompt sounds cool! (might steal that)
This is warm on this cold morning. Love that arp paired with the warm textured synth bass.
The drums are crisp and that electro splash cymbal adds such a nice sizzle to everything. Subtle thing but it adds a lot.
Oh, i LOVE that square-ish lead that comes in about 1:37; one of my favorite sounds ever, and you use it and place it so well here. It really puts the cherry on top for the music.
And great simple lyrics - I find that I like less words when it comes to lyrics. Dig the vocals here too as the long sustained words glide over the warm but sparkly music.
This could've gone on for a few more minutes as far as I'm concerned, as the chill mood was really setting in.
Cool track!

I like it. Interesting concept and total departure from the songs I've heard from you before. This gives a real sense of expansive space in your instrumentation and your vocal delivery. Well done, Celine.
@mariekevinkmusic Feb 2022
Love it. You are on Fire again this year. Also, Mandolin Fire deserve their own album!
@bachelorb Feb 2022
I know you were concentrating on the words, but the way you wove the music around the lyrics is great!! The percussion and well placed shimmers add so much.
@gm7 Feb 2022
The is a captivating piece and the vocals are cutting though that BT. Great imagerywell done.
@timfatchen Feb 2022
I am struck by the level of sense and emotion from that limited word set. This is a super piece of music, voice, progressions and swirly spacey backing. Mmmmmm. (that's not a word either, despite its expressiveness! ;) )
