Flying Tadpole bursts forth with transplanted vocal chords, the mask only falling off in the last couple of bars...
I know one should reach out in forgiveness and loving kindness to one's enemies even when they're out to destroy you utterly but sometimes I find it a little too hard.
This one written for a friend who is still waiting for the muck being thrown at her to eventually rebound on the throwers. Which it will, I've no doubt, but not for a long time. So I guess you can say, this is a song of Hope!
Marked NSFW because, although there's not a single naughty word in it, for sure the dirty ears at work will insert one.

Schadenfreude, Schadenfreude,
Such a lilting lovely word [woidé]
For the joy that quietly steals,
For the comfort that one feels
As those who'd do you, come unstuck
When Karma sends a whopping truck
And leaves them well and truly...well,
That's Schadenfreude.
The bullies and the narcissists,
In their vendettas, they persist
In making others' lives a hell
As (for a time) their lies work well.
They think the consequences they'll duck,
But, someday, back will come the buck
And when they're caught in that cluster...well,
That's Schadenfreude.
For what is sent upon its way
Will come around, another day.
It might take longer than you wish
But when it does, oh! what a dish
To see them hit by their very own muck
And their money run out, and they're down on their luck,
And you no longer need give a flying...well,
That's Schadenfreude.

This is great fun! I could see it being one of the centerpieces of a comedy musical. And the subject matter is one that I'm all too familiar with lol. Nice work.
@mahtowin Mar 2022
Great! I think everyone knows something about this topic.
Do I hear Schadenfreude come through your words? :-)
@leepat Mar 2022
well and truly... fun :)
great write and inspired delivery!
love the bugs bunny clin d'oeil and all the rhymes for nsfw you came up with.
would sit wonderfully in a Brecht piece, I imagine...
@nancycunning Mar 2022
Schadenfreude is such a wonderful word, and the Vienna Waltz setting is just right. This makes me think of singing along with Tom Lehrer songs in the car as a kid....
@moonraccoon Feb 2022
Hahaha! Brilliant. You voice acting is stellar!
@iwilleatyou Feb 2022
Well of course I had to click on an NSFW tune. You do writing for stage plays don't you? This sits right up there for a song made for stage shows. I must say I enjoy this more than any Andrew Lloyd Webber song. Good job!
@johnpeekstok Feb 2022
Perfect.
@oaksnprairie Feb 2022
You’re channeling Tom Lehrer beautifully. I love all expletives interruptus.
@juoppis Feb 2022
Ah, such sweet justice. A beautiful waltz that sounds Viennese (at least that's what it feels like). The lyrics are perfect!
@blindkiwi Feb 2022
Haha, I thought I had left a comment on this but just realized i left on your soundboard instead. Now I am laughing at my own ineptitude. What is the German term for that I wonder.
@dh3 Feb 2022
This is brilliant! Lovely rhymes, and it has the feeling of an old music-hall song - with a twist!
@sherrylynnlee Feb 2022
This made me laugh, thank you!
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
This felt like a delightful afternoon in the parlor, and then a retreat to the veranda for a lemonade punch, except for the vengeance on your enemies.
Well written and performed!
@jeff9 Feb 2022
"But someday, back will come the buck..." is wonderfully unusual in that is a perfectly effective and appropriate Yoda-ism line. And there are others. Plus, as the guy below said whose name includes "Duct", this whole thing is really as clever as...well, it's hilarious! Well done.
@gilhari Feb 2022
Just here to say it was entertaining as a song, but the liner notes were great as well.
I enjoid the woid schadenfreud, it isn’t rood to say schadenfrood accidentally at first is it?
@ductapeguy Feb 2022
You knocked that one out of the park. And even though you established the -uck rhymes early, you still surprised me with some of them. Let me be the first to stand on birth settles coffee table in cowboy boots and say, I do give a flying tadpole.
@readwrite Feb 2022
I enjoyed this immensely! Setting it up with the piano intro as practically into the world of Schubert and Schumann, but such relevance to modern life. You put the words together so well, but with a light touch! and I enjoyed the way the piano accompaniment pointed the jokes and set the mood.
@valeriecox Feb 2022
Schadenfreude. I’m so happy I learned this word! Definitely adding it to me vocabulary. I like the classic waltz. Gives a great vibe to the song. Very entertaining.
@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
Such a delightful old timely waltz feel that seems so comfortable and lovely with the wonderfully quirky and pointed lyrics. Nice touch on the keys and wonderful emotion in the vocals.
@skylermf Feb 2022
This is such a fun song! I love that the playful tongue-and-cheek lyrics are contrasted with the waltz piano, it’s a really neat combination. Really creative stuff!
@jtsteam Feb 2022
This is great! I'm sure we can all think of plenty of people who are going to get what they deserve sooner or later... and this dances around that topic in a very entertaining way.
@zecoop Feb 2022
Ohhhh myyyyy…. My face hurts. I was smiling a huge grin the entire time. You’ve got this one out of the park, as they say. Wonderfully fun, devious and exactly what so many are thinking. Perfect pauses and an awesome song! It’s great to wake up in the morning and actually laugh out loud. Thanks for sharing!!
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
yes hope Karma comes to the Schadenfreuders. Where did that inspiration come from! goodness me! Very entertaining and yes i did say that rude word that you silenced oops 1$ in the swear box
